Printer keeps saying that we are out of paper even though photo paper is in and glossy side is down. Can't figure out why it isn't sensing that the paper is there.

Go into printers and faxes, right click on your HP PHotosmart printer, click on properties, in the general tab click on printer preferences, on the advanced tab make sure the paper type is Automatic so the printer will acknowledge any type paper put into the tray.

This may allow the printer to see your photopaper. Also try to remove the paper completely and put it back in the tray, make sure the paper is pushed all the way to the front of the tray.

Hi, I've got an HP Photosmart D7160. It continually says "Paper Jam". Actually the error screen says something like "please remove paper jam and then press OK", but there is no paper...

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.get more help and information for hp printer support hope this helps you.

Thanks

Keepes saying paper jammed but there no paper stuck

Turn off the Printer
Remove the Rear Access door
Check for any bits of paper stuck in the rollers
Clean the Rollers with lint free cloth ( upward exactly how the paper rollers)
Open the Front access Door, Check for any paper stuck.
Close the doors and try to turn on the printer

If this does not work, Disconnect the power cord from back of printer when printer is powered on.
While holding the OK and Cancel button connect the cord back.

Turned it on and it says paper jam. There is no

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

I keep getting paper jam messages when there is no paper jam.

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

How do i clean the rollers on a hp photosmart d7160

  1. Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet. Open the printer cover and expose the printer rollers.
  2. Remove the paper from the "in" tray and any paper you may have in the "out" tray.
  3. Hold the wet cloth against the first roller with one hand and use the other hand to manually turn the roller.
  4. Replace the paper in the in tray. Plug the printer in and print a test page. The rollers should take the paper from the in tray. If not, repeat the process in Step 3 to make sure you remove all of the dirt.

Printer cannot grab paper,

The rollers in these printers go bad all the time. Your best solution would be to take it to a local printer shop and get the rollers replaced.
