The paper dock is full but everytine I try to print it tries to "grab" the paper but it can't and keeps saying "printer is out of paper". Any suggestions?
Printer cannot grab paper - keeps saying it's out of paper. Have tried shutting it off, filling the entire tray and just using one piece. I have an R2400 and it is very finicky about grabbing the paper. I have to hand feed sheets of thick matte paper one at a time with just the right amount of pressure and even then sometimes it takes two tries. Make sure you keep the rollers very clean.
Hi, the Ip3000 has 3 different feeding trays... make sure that the printer is trying to "grab" the paper in the tray that you have chosen to use in the printer properties box... when you give the print command can you see the rubber roller moving to grab the paper in the top feeder tray??? if the roller that feeds the printer is not moving you may have accidentally changed the settings to grab paper from the bottom tray...the one right under the door that opens to let printed pages out of the printer... the 3rd feeder tray is the DVD/CD printing tray... I suggest that you look at the printer Properties for remedial action... hope this helps you with your problem... cheers haitchhcee p.s. suggest you place paper in the bottom tray before making adjustments to see if it is trying to grab the paper from there...
I cleaned the wheel as a previous user had advised - I also pushed up the metal catch that sits under the printer and lifts the paper cartridge and it started to print. My replacement printer however didn't respond to this, however at least I have one that works.
For how long it will continue to do so is another question...!
To prevent misfeeds and to make sure your pictures look their best, we recommend that you keep the feed roller clean.
IMPORTANT: Unplug the power before cleaning the feed rollers.
Unplug the AC power cord from the power outlet.
Remove the paper tray from the printer, and leave the paper tray door open.
IMPORTANT: Do not use cotton or cotton swabs to clean the feed roller.
Lightly moisten a lint-free cloth with water.
Use the moistened cloth to gently wipe clean the surface of the feed roller. Advance the feed roller with your thumb as necessary, and continue cleaning.
Let the feed roller dry fully before plugging the AC power cord back into the power outlet.
Insert the paper tray into the printer, then press the Print button to resume printing.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
I had the same problem. Kodak support advised to take a damp lint free cloth ( I used a white handkerchief ) and wipe clean the center roller that grabs the paper. You can rotate the roller manually until you're satisfied you've cleaned it all. I just wiped it right to left several times and all was ok again. I didn't see any residue at all on the handkerchief but there must have been something that was there. Anyway, I think this'll work for you also.
Now if I could only figure out why my printer dock plus is only printing the lower part of pictures even though I installed new ink cartridge. Kodak advised to tighten slack in cartridge. There was not any noticeable slack. Still a no go.
Dirty rollers? I had the same problem and think the rollers are no longer sticky enough to pick up the paper due to a coating of dust... maybe cleaning the rollers would work?

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
make sure that the paper is kodak xtralife with perforated tabs, otherwise the printer will really not pick it up and if it would - it's gonna be a really bad print
detach all the things that are attached to the printer. grab a piece of lint-free cloth, wet the other end and leave the other end dry clean the roller horizontally use the dry end to dry up the roller and watch for water build ups have at least 10 photo papers in the paper tray slide the paper tray back into the printer plug the printer onto the wall outlet, wait for the initializing sound put cam to the printer dock print a picture
