SOURCE: how to remove the stand from samsung LCD TV
Place the tv on its screen flat on a soft surface,
you need to remove all the screws, not just the stand one marked.
Lift the back panel and then you will be able to slide down the stand, when you have removed the back cover you will also see where how your wall mount will fit to the chassis.
Place all the screws back on the back lid.

I also got a black screen! I then turned the TV off, pressed TV and while it was lit, quickly pressed info, menu and then mute. Then switched the tv back on and amazingly......the menu was there. Go to item 12 and reset. I am please to say that we are back in business,
SOURCE: My wall studs are wider than my television mount
It is very unusual to have wall studs this far apart - most are 16" on center. Mounting anything that is very heavy on studs so far apart will not be safe. Have you considered a table top stand?
SOURCE: 3 year old Samsung 40 inch LCD TV will not turn on
The problem is 4 capacitors on the power supply board. Just had mine done under warranty. They (Sears) replaced the whole power board but you can get larger capacitors and just replace those for alot cheaper if not under warranty.
SOURCE: how do i remove stand from samsung syncmaster 2333
its a snap-type plug-in stand, just hold the stand firmly and pull the monitor equally upward, then it will snap quickly....... but a proffessional reminder! Before mounting your SyncMaster on a wall, be sure to plug the two (2) stand holes located at the buttom of the monitor. My Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD LCD TV was twice intruded by adult-size lizard, both incident resulted to main power board damaged!!!!
