Double images Picture is double images, one on top of other, the first image is in red and the other in green color.

While the set is prone to bad tubes a double or 3d like image is convergence--this model uses two of the STK-392-560 CHIPS for this.

Go into customer menu and call up convergence--if off and will not adjust in any area of the screen the chips are bad.

The problem you are refering to is more than likely a convergence problem. The convergence circuit in your tv is controlled by an IC (integrated circuit) stk392-110 and it makes the 3 colors (red, blue, green) line up/converge together to create a clear picture. You'll know when this part needs to be replaced because the picture you see is 3d looking and possibly bowed on the top or bottom or on the sides in any or all 3 colors.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.



You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.


Solution


You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Did you use the Automatica Convergence to try and straighten it out? If that does not help, you can manually adjust the convergence.

hi there, its a color allignment problem, the adjusting ring is in the neck of the picture tube, the unit is on while adjusting it to the correct image. ty
