No sound on my samsung s22c300 monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW 22" LCD Monitor

The Samsung B2230 LCD Monitor does not seem to have any speakers.

At Samsungs website the specifications state that there are no speakers:

There should be a headphone jack on the back of the monitor where you would need a cable which has 2 headphone style jacks on either end, plug one end into the monitor and the other end into the soundcard or onboard sound jack on the pc ( usually green )

sounds like a problem with the monitor do u have another u can hook up temp to make sure

Lets find out first if it is the monitor amplifiers problem or PC sound card problem.
Try feeding the monitor with sound source such as MP3 player to see if you can get the sound or not, the sound system in the monitor is nothing more than Powered PC speakers mounted inside the monitor, no driver required to make the sound to work.
If it is the amp problem inside, you will be better off spending money on a good set of Powered speakers system that will have 100 times better sound quality than the monitor built-in speakers.

should be a line in. 3.5mm standard jack to plug in the speakers. Definitely a different plug then the video.

can you see that a capicitor 820/10v is pluked ? replace it.

The Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW does not have built-in speakers, so yes, you need external speakers separately for sound.

you can try checking in your t.v.s menu for audio program

there are no speakers on it, how could u take sound?
