N64 will not play on new TV and Stereo Reciever

I recently tried plugging my N64 into our new stereo reciever and HDTV. I plugged in all the cables correctly, and when I turned it on, the red light came on, but no audio or video showed up on the tv. Nothing has been wrong with my N64 in the past. I figured the problem was in the outdated video/audio cord. Is this the case? If so, is there a way to get a modern cable that still connects to the N64? Thanks in advance! the problem that i'm having is this, i just bougth a n64 because i'm really interesting in play the legend of zelda but every time i tryed to use it i plug it and i could hear it but i can't see it i tryed everything plug it in the tv new and old and nothing same happend with the cable box.i just bougth another out wire and it has not come yet but because i think that is the problem what can you tell me?????

Maybe it's just the T.V I mean the N64 is like 10+ years old and you're trying to get it to work in a new T.V! I reckon that your best bet is to buy an older T.V to play it with or get an emulator e.g PJ64 on your computer and then you can still play your games

I need to know if it is possibly to plug an iPod into my ONKYO AV RECEIVER TX-SR506?

Yes it is. The easiest way to go about this is to get a stereo mini male to left and right male rca cable. Connect the stereo mini end into your ipod, and the left and right male RCA end into an available input on your reciever. Change the input on the reciever to correspond with the input you connected to. Ensure your ipod is powered on and playing with the volume turned up. This set up will play through your reciever but will not charge your ipod. If you want it to charge while playing, than you will need to get a dock.

How do i hook up mt ipod

To hook up your ipod to an a/v reciever you need a stereo mini to male rca cable. You plug the mini side into you ipods head phone jack, and the male rca's left and right(usually red and white colored plugs) to an auxilary input on the a/v reciever.-Example, tape, aux, sa/cd.
Change the input on the reciever to correspond with where you connected the ipod
Ensure the ipod is powered on and playing with the volume turned up.

I have an lg lcd mod#lc427d hdtv how do i hook up an rca rt2280 system to it. i have a dvd player hooked up to tv now using hdmi cables, rca av reciever does not have them...

You can check your dvd player for a coaxial or an optical sound output, then you can plug it directly to your receiver. Those two are the best options after HDMI. Another option is A/V RCA type cable, you´ll need 3 stereo A/V wires, in order to connect the 6 channels. Remember to uncheck the HDMI sound output option on the DVD menu.

NOU SOUND

well I have a work around and a solution possibly. first go threw your menu audio and verify external speakers are not turned off. if there is no setting or it is turned on already try a different video/audio input if nothing else if you have good picture you can use a stereo reciever to play the sound you do not have to input audio into the tv if you have surround sound go straight from your device(dvd, vcr, cable box etc.) to your sereo reciever just the audio plugs (red and white, not yellow unless you have a monitor out from your stereo in which you conect all three to the stereo input then one cable from the monitor out on the stereo to the tv in put

Getting stereo speakers to work with flat panel tv

if you hook the low-level audio-out from the tv to an input to the stereo unit, whatever you play on tv will send audio to surround/stereo reciever unit. look on back of tv for red &white AUDIO OUTPUT terminals. plug red/white audio cables from tv to the back of your stereo & plug into audio input of an open source on stereo (tv/video,aux. in,etc.) good luck!

Hooking up home theater

Run a regular RCA type audio cable from your TV audio out to your Home Theatre audio in. That is what I have done recently with my Samsung LCD and Home Theater. You then have to put your Home Theater on Aux 1 or Aux 2 to get the sound from TV. Ensure your TV's volume is off.

Installed surround sound, no picture on tv

I could not get my TV to recognize an S-video signal from my reciever either. I ended up just bypassing the reciever and running the video straight from the cable box to the TV. It might be a better option anyways as some quality is lost if you run it through the reciever.
