Called Flash Codes. First try turning off everything at the breaker for at least 2 hours and preferably overnight. Turn back on and wait 15 minutes for self test to complete.
Hi Donna,
Check outdoor unit is running - the larger pipe/fitting of the two should be cool to touch after about 20 minutes, and the small one should be hot - if not either the system is short of refrigerant or the compressor is not running.
Check to make sure the settings are correct - snowflake for cooling - not for wintertime
Good luck
Hi Marie, does the green indicator light on the front panel flash after it shuts down? If it does...count how many times it flashes this will refer to a fault code diagnostic.
the outdoor indictor light on my lg split comes on after some minutes on the one inside and the cooling has reduced please can any1 tell me what the problem is
Hello there, I guess your Running capacitor is leaking already, when you start your aircon it will run after a minute the aircon will stop with errors, because the fan is stop running due to busted capacitor. thanks
Sounds like your aircon is stuck on heating mode. Or. The outdoor fan speed is affected by ambient temperature, or low refrigerant. In heating mode the indoor fan will come on for a while to sense temperature and will then wait for the outdoor unit to pump up pressure and build up heat.
Are you saying that you have plugged the aircon into an extension lead then into a socket in the wall and that the smoke was coming from the extension lead part. If so I would suggest checking all your plug in connections and chenge the extension lead. A quick way to check the compressor is a cause is to put the aircon to fan only and see if it fails to trip out the circuit breaker, then put it back onto cooling and see if it trips (if it does on cooling then its a good possibility). Most aircons have a three to five minute time delay for starting the compressor to protect against power fluctuations (ie power cuts). Hope this s of some help.
