Invalid dim I keep trying to plug in quadratic formulas when I press Y= and it keeps saying error when I try to graph it

You're trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

SOURCE: An "Invalid Dimension Error" on my TI-83 (not plus)-- Please help!

I'm having the same problem and I tried turning off one of these stat plots but turns out I don't know how to do it, or how to tell if I did or not. Help please?

Your stat plots are on, and may not be filled out/ correctly filled out.
go to [Y=] and go up to the stat plots ([Plot 1], [Plot 2], [Plot 3] ) and turn off the ones that are "ON" ( highlighed black w/ white text.) and press [ENTER] on the ones that are on and the problem is no more.

Go to your stat plot screen, and select option 4 (PlotsOff), Press Enter, and try to plot a normal graph again

If you are in the stat mode and entering points in list 1 and list 2, it could be that one list is longer than the other.

If you are just trying to graph from the y= screen, one of your plots is probably turned on. The easiest way to fix this is to press the 2nd button the the plus button, then 7 and then 1 and then 2. This will reset to factory settings.

Here is what the manual says
INVALID DIM : The dimension of the argument is incompatible with th current operation. (As dimension of a matrix, a list).

You can tell us more about what your were trying to do, we may able to help. Reset memory to default, the error may disappear.
[2nd][MEM][7][2][2] Defaults set.

Try deactivating the Statistica plots.
Press [2nd][Y=] to enter Stat Plots. Press the PlotsOff menu option.

One of the statistical plots is turned ON and you must turn OFF all the STAT PLOTS.
To do so
  1. Press [2nd][Y=] to access the stat plot configuration.
  2. Select [4:PlotsOff]
  3. Command PlotsOff echoes on main calculator screen
  4. Press [ENTER] to execute it.
  5. Return to your [Y=] screen to define functions to graph.
  6. When finished entering functions press the [GRAPH] button.

I am trying to enter a slope formula in the "y=" window, my lists are all cleared but everytime it goes to the graph it tells me "err invalid dim"

I d not understand what you mean by enter a slope formula, but I am going to assume you want to draw the graph of a function y= f(x) and you are having a problem.
  1. Press the STAT button and
  2. Select 4:PlotsOff
  3. Press ENTER
  4. Calculator displays DONE
  5. Now you can do your graphs.
