SOURCE: intercom issue

Those are 2 very different questions. Since you both have display phones, look at them. A 7731 on a TA system changes state with the * button. There are 3; Extension, Time, Time & Date.

When she calls you, your Auto Answer button is probably lit. Press it so it turns off and haver her call you again. It should ring, but not always. The button can control a couple of things, according to programming. Now, have her press her AA button until it lights. Now call her. Voice call?

If none of this works, please provide your cabinet model number. It's listed on the side of the cabinet where all the phones plug in.

SOURCE: we are having difficulty when trying to intercom

From that phone press PROGRAM and the button. What does the display say? If it doesn't say Ext XXX, then dial 1 plus the extension and STORE.

You should be able to read all the buttons and what is under them by just pressing them. Nothing changes until you press ENTER or STORE.

When i push the intercom then message button to retrieve messages it tells me invalid across the screen

while the handset is hung up (without pressing the intercom button) press the "MESSAGE" button, on the display it should show ~why~ the message light is on (cause it is possible someone tried to intercom you, then hit the wrong button) after that you can turn off your light by pressing:
1) INTERCOM
2) 700
3) *your extension #*

it is possible that the extension that turned on your message light is no longer in service, making it an invalid extension

We have lucent phones and have know ideal of how to transfer or use intercom

To use both the transfer and the intercom it,s necessary to know the extension numbers of the phones your trying to call or transfer to. To find out what the extension number is on those extensions either press feature 00 (if the extension has a display) the extension number will be displayed on the screen, if the set doesn't have a display then you can use the intercom to call a extension that does have a display. To use the intercom press one of the intercom keys below the first two line keys and enter in the extension number of the persons phone you wish to call. To transfer a call, while talking to the caller press the Transfr key(above the hold key) then the extension number of the of the persons phone you wish to call then hang up.

If you want to "make an announcement" using speaker phone using intercom, how do you do it

When you intercom the extension, insert a STAR ("*") before the extension number.

EX:
Dial intercom 12, will ring 12.
Dial intercom*12, will page the phone and go straight to speakerphone.

IF the far end user has their "MIC/HFAI" button lit, they will need to do nothing, they can just talk.
IF not, they will need to lift the handset, OR, press the "MIC/HFAI" button, to be head.

I need to know how to page another extension. Our Avaya phones do not have the intercom button. I thought there should be a function code to program a button for Intercom, but I'm not finding it. I need to...

There are 2 buttons right below Line 1 and Line 2. Those are both intercoms.

When paging a phone, you just insert a * (star) before the extension number.

SO, Intercom*11, will page extension 11

To program on a button, feature 00, press the button you want to program, then press the left intercom and *xx (where xx is the extension number)

As far as paging all the phones, you will need to have them in a calling group (1-4), hten you can page the group to page them all.

How do you page with a Meridian Norstar M7208 phone?

There is another page, acting more like a directed intercom page...

If you want to talk to someone and you know where they are (general area) you can do a FEATURE 6 6 and the extension number.

This is a direct page and when you page this way, that person can respond back and you can hear them.
