Your voice mail extensions are programmed incorrectly in the system. You need to enter the System Programming mode from Ext 10 or 11 and use #607 to set the correct voicemail extensions.

The extra light means there is something programmed for that location. I would go into the extension programming and see what that button is set for. It could be an unused line or a feature not labeled.

If this is happening on the entire system, then make sure you have the number of lines programmed correctly. If this is correct you may have a bad processor card. If this is a happening on an extension only, then the port/card may be damaged I would temporarily move the extension to another port on a different card and see if the trouble follows. If it does you have an issue with the phone not the port/card.

If you have a Backup & Restore card you can manually restore the system. If not you will have to restore everything by manually including voicemail greetings and automated attendants.

For a Partner 18D phone the process is a little different depending on the VM version you have. In general you press Intercom 777(gets you into voicemail) enter your password(default is 1234 or 123456). This is where the various system commands change. Listen for Mailbox Options or Greetings option. Press that button and you can setup, change or delete greetings.

From extension 10 or 11 you must log into System Programming. Press Feature 00 and then the Left Intercom button twice. Then press #103 and enter the time as a 24 hour clock or military time. For example 9am 0900 and 2pm 1400. Then press Feature 00 to exit and save.

For most of the Avaya mail systems it is *3 after you have logged into your voicemail. If this is incorrect just listen to the prompts in your voicemail it will tell you.

Is the Microphone on extension A working if you are using the speakerphone. If not try using the hand set with the intercom and see if that works. Can extension A call any other extension and be heard?

They are the 2 buttons side by side at the bottom of the 18 button field. Also above the volume and feature buttons.
