thanks for the suggestion.clock is fix,but the microwave will not get hot.a cup of water then i press the beverage bottom and it didnot even get warm.i can't get it to get hot.how do i do that.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

For the clock, are you following the owner manual directions completely? Normally, you have to push another button AFTER you get the time punched in.

When you say the microwave will only get warm, what are you trying to warm up?
I suggest that you get a cup of water, and put in the microwave. Press the "beverage" button if you have one, or whatever button allows heating a beverage. If you do not have one, then measure the water temperature in the cup, then run the microwave on high for 5 minutes. Then measure the temperature of the water.

Please reply your findings. I will try to locate the manual to see if there are any instructions to test the microwave. But microwaves wither work, or they don't. After that, it's a matter of the amount of time and power setting.

If you set the default for high heat, it will normally boil 8 ounces of water in 60 - 75 seconds.

Microwave key pad won't work

That is a failed membrane keypad.

It is part number 3518522640B and you can order it from the Pros here.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you would like to have us do this repair for you, we do that for $39.95 plus parts.

Microwave too much steam won't cook

If there is no heat, then it's probably a defective magnetron.

I wish to change the time on the clock on my LUMINA MICROWAVE. I lost the manual so I don't know how to do it. Can you please give me some guidance on how to change the time? I look forward to hear...

I feel your pain, I am in the same position. After endless mucking around I finally figured it out. By the way, this is for my model P10034AP. Press these buttons: - Cancel [to abort anything currently underway] Clock [to set the time] Cancel [to clear the time allowing input] nnnn [the 4 numbers HH:MM in 24 hour time] Clock [to set the new time]
Hope that helps :) Cheers Jonathan Barton

I have a 1995 Sharp Carousel R-1440. Our power went out then when it came on our microwave it no longer working properly. the clock works but when the door is closed the cooling fan starts running- it...

Yes your oven's controller is probably malfunctioning you need to replace the SYSTEM BOARD but I personally suggest to buy an other oven.... the system board will be hard to find and expensive...

See if other electronics is acting funny since the power loss... you could CLAIM the damage from the insurance company

Good luck!!

Operation manual is lost, how do I set the clock?

The manual for the Magic Chef MCD1311ST Microwave can be downloaded in pdf format from the following site (follow the link then click the "Manuals" tab):
http://www.mcappliance.com/mwodetailpage.aspx?ModelName=MCD1311ST

If you don't have time to download, here's what the instructions state:

SETTING THE CLOCK
When the oven is first plugged in, the display will flash ":0" and a tone will sound. If the AC power ever goes off, the display shows ":0" when the power comes back on.

1. Touch CLOCK pad.
This is a 12 hour clock system.

2. Touch CLOCK pad once more.
This is a 24hour clock system.
NOTE: This oven has multiple clock system. If you want 12 hour clock system, omit this step.

3. Enter the correct time of day by touching the numbers in sequence.

4. Touch CLOCK pad.
The display stops blinking, and the colon start blinking. If you selected 12 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 1:00 to 12:59. If you selected 24 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 0:00 to 23:59.

5. Touch STOP/CLEAR pad.

NOTE: If you attempt to enter an incorrect time, the time will not be set and a error signal tone will sound. Touch the CLOCK pad and re-enter the time.

How do I change the time on m Siemens Microwelle plus oven please? Model number HF75960GB

Did you try pushing the clock button, setting the time (eg. 300) for three o'clock, and then push the clock button once more. If this doesn't work, don't push the clock button at the end. Just set it, and let it stay until it stops blinking - and then it should be set. If you need further assistance, let me know and I'll help you. I'm just going by the usual standard of setting clocks on microwave's - but maybe with this model, there's another way. Good Luck to you! - Jim

Above Range GE Microwave not heating

Try disconnecting the power line from the microwave ad then reinstalling it after a few minutes.. then try heating up a small cup of water.. allow 1.5 minutes on high power. it should get very hot or boil.. if it doesn't get warm or hot then you may have a bad magnetron ( the tube that produces the microwave energy that causes things to heat up or a bad filament transformer that is required for the magnetron to work.In either case, if it fails to heat anything, I would go back to home depot and insist they send someone out to address the problem. many of their appliances come with a one year warranty but you might want to call the store and ask someone there about normal applaince coverage ( less extended warranty) and what they normally offer. An inquiry costs nothing..

Hope this helps..
