Depends on the make and model but they are required to post that information on a label on the unit. It may be on the back or the bottom. IF the label is missing, it is probably pulling around 15 AMPS

replace control panel

Replacement trays cost around $30.00. The cheapest I found was on Ebay for $28.00. By the time you pay for shipping you can almost buy a new appliance. Also take care that you find one for your model, you can't always tell by looking if it is going to fit.

Try your local Goodwill or other thrift store for a used one.

Good luck

I can tell you what we did when we had that issue with our Maytag microwave. The door wouldn’t latch correctly and an appliance repairman said we would have to get a new microwave. My husband took the spring out and decided to just put the spring back. It had come unhooked somehow. He put it back and it’s worked fine going on 3 years later.

I wouldn't suggest drilling holes or putting screws into a microwave oven in case you hit something on the inside. If you are attempting to stop it from falling out, Ive been to repairs before where the Customer has used a large blob of silastic on each corner of the base to glue it into place. This was on caravan installations where they didn't want it to fall out whilst in travel. It was a job to get the unit out, but it served the purpose.

I'm fairly sure the fan has a door switch and that may have failed. if you take the outer cover off the micro wave itself you hopefully will have a wiring diagram of the unit. Many times I have had to replace micro wave door switch's that have failed not letting it start or sometimes such as yours something like the light staying on. Being that you are a service man, I don't have to tell you be sure to disconnect the power to it and then you can use your ohm meter to check the switches. Hope this helps you

Yes, it wont make any difference to the cooking . It will just be harder to see inside when the food starts to burn or boil.
