SOURCE: broken dust bin

You must replace the whole bin. Not sure where you can get it but if you take it in it for repair it will cost roughly 50-60 for the part plus labor.

SOURCE: Dyson DC07 Clear Bin Flap will not release

I just received my replacement root cyclone in the mail today after waiting in the back-ordered status for three months. I positioned a butter knife in between the rubber gasket on the bottom flap lid and the bottom rim of the clear bin at the farthest point from the hinge and slowly and gently wiggled the knife between until the bottom flap just fell open. I examined the rubber gasket and it survived without injury and the bottom flap seals without any gaps...good luck

I have a Dyson I took out the screws to clean it before I opened the canister now I can not get it together again

You're a bit unclear on what screws you took apart to 'clean it'. If you took the canister apart, then this Snapguide page
How to Clean Dyson DC07 Canister goes through taking the top section thoroughly apart, and has some notes about things needing to line back up properly, which might help in the event that you're not getting things to snap back together right. I took mine apart solo after picking it up cheap at a flea market, and also recall reassembling the top took a little patience.

        Good Luck!

I have a new Bissell Powerglide 1305 vacuum. It is red. I took the thing apart screw by screw to clean it inside out after my son decided to vacuum out the fireplace ash. However, once I put it back...

Knowing a little of how mechanical things are designed I would guess that when you took it apart you didn't notice exactly how the mechanism was set up that triggers the reclining feature. I would take it apart again. Then canalize how the reclining mechanism should work. It's probably to pieces that are not fastened together but are only held by positioning on assembly.

Cant get the bottom lid of dyson dc7 dirt bin to open

        Hi there,

I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty opening your clear bin. The mechanism that releases the bin base is actually part of your cyclone assembly. When you pull the trigger, a small clip at the bottom of your cyclone releases the bin base. If this clip is missing or broken, part replacement may be needed to resolve the issue.

You can call us directly to order the the cyclone assembly at 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1-866-693-9766 (US). The part is also available on our website.

FITTED NEW CYCLONE UNIT TO dc07 ANIMAL AND CAN'T GET IT TO EMPTY

        Hi Pauline,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty fitting your new cyclone pack. If it won't empty when you pull the trigger, you may want to check you have the clear bin and cyclone pack aligned and fitted together correctly.

You might want to give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), as one of our advisors will be happy to help you check everything is correct with your machine.

Trigger on my dc07 does not open cylinder flap, what can i do

        Hi Stephen,
This is a pretty uncommon problem and it is not terribly easy to fix. I suspect Dyson became aware of it and changed the mechanism as I have only seen this issue with Dyson DC07. Basically there is a long plastic rod from the trigger to the bottom flap when you pull on it the latch is released and the flap opens. Your plastic rod has most likely broken. The unfortunate thing is you cannot buy that rod you might have to buy the complete radix assembly. It normally happens that the bottom end breaks off when someone holds the base in place and pulls the trigger.
If this is the case then you may be able to super carefully glue the pieces back together. Watch the video I linked below it shows how to get the radix apart. The tricky part for you is that you will then need to insert a coat hanger or some other slim long thing into the centre and manually push the release which is right at the base of the radix in the middle this will release the flap.
From there see if you can find the broken bit and repair the pieces. Super glue wont hold, you will need araldite or some other super strong compound.
Of course if this sounds like too much trouble just buy a new radix.
