When the Brother machines beep three times while pressing any button on the front panel, this means there is a button stuck. Try pressing all buttons over and over to unstick button. This should help. Please rate my help if this works. If you need anything else, save my user name and ask me anytime. Thanks!

Page memory. error

To clear the message on my Intellifax (although this is Intellifax 775), I followed these steps:

1. Unplug the Brother machine from the power outlet for 10 seconds.

2. Press and hold the STOP key.

3. While holding the STOP key, plug the power cord back into the power outlet.

4. After you plug the machine back in, continue to hold the STOP key for 5 seconds. [Also try waiting until you hear a long beep then let the key up.]

- The display should return to the date and time.

- If the display does not return to date and time, repeat STEPS 1 through 4.

Hope this helps.

Hello, I bought a brother all in one printer, the MFC-J265. It is hooked up to the computer and I have installed it the way it says in the manual, except when the printer is on there is nothing shown on...

f the keys on the control panel do not respond or triple beep when youpress them follow the steps listed below:1. Unplug your machine from the electrical outlet, wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
2. Verify the date and time are displayed on the LCD.
a.If the date and time show on the display, continue to step 3.
b. If the LCD displays an error message (example: paper jam) or status message (example: ink empty), refer to the necessary solution for the message that is appearing on the LCD.
c.f the display is blank, verify the power cord is connected. If the power cord is connected to a surge protector or power switch, remove thecord from the device and connect it directly to the outlet. Next, verifythe unit is powered ON. The MFC has an ON/OFF key located on the right side of the unit. In OFF mode the display will be blank. If the display is still blank, try a different known working electrical outlet at your location. If the display still remains blank and your machine iswithin warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area using one of the following:
Click on:
http://www.brother-usa.com/support/and then click on the "Service Center Locator" option located on the left side of the page or for automated assistance by telephone, dial 1-800-284-4357 and select Option2 to access our fax back system. This system can provide you a printed list via facsimile or verbal listings of a Brother ASC in your area. Youmay also contact Brother Customer Service at 1-800-284-4329 Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 7:00pm EST, excluding holidays. If you are outof warranty, you need to contact a Brother Authorized Service Center using the information listed above.
3. There are 3 Mode keys located below the LCD display, PHOTOCAPTURE, FAX, SCAN and COPY. The correct mode key must be illuminated in green when attempting to access or program one of these functions (faxing, copying or scanning). Examples: If you try to access the "Setup Receive"or "Setup Send" menu's, make sure the FAX mode key is illuminated in green. If not, press it to turn Fax Mode "ON". If you are trying to make a copy, make sure the COPY mode key is illuminated in green. If not, press it to turn the COPY mode "ON". If the correct mode key is notilluminated in green when attempting to access specific functions, the keys on the control will triple beep when pressed.
4. Press the keys to see if they respond. For example: if you press the MENU/SET key the menu options should be displayed on the LCD. If you press the HOOK key, you should hear a dial tone (provided the speaker volume is set at an audible level, and the line connections are correct).
5. If every key still triple beeps or does not respond, gently massage each key on the control panel in a circular motion to dislodge any stuckkeys. You should do this regardless of whether or not any of the keys appear to be stuck. Then test the functionality of the control panel again, using either the MENU/SET or HOOK key, as outlined in STEP 4.
If none of the keys are stuck, or if freeing a stuck key did not restorethe control panel#s functionality and your machine is within warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area using one of the following:
Click on:
http://www.brother-usa.com/support/and then click on the "Service Center Locator" option located on the left side of the page or for automated assistance by telephone, dial 1-800-284-4357 and select Option2 to access our fax back system.

I can not clear the memory MC-465CN on the fax - this is a mulitple function Brother - copies, scans, faxes, photo

If you clear the memory, any faxes stored will be also be erased. This solution assumes that you have the fax storage option "On" to store faxes in memory.

On the control panel:

1) Press <Menu>

2) Use <Up> or <Down> arrow keys until "Fax" appears on the display, press <OK>

3) Use <Up> or <Down> until "Remote Fax Option" or "Advanced Fax Operation" appears, press <OK>

4) Use <Up> or <Down> until "Off" appears, then press <OK>

5) You will be prompted: "Erase all fax?" 1. Yes 2. No

Press <1> to erase all faxes in memory.

6) Press <Stop/Exit> to return to normal function

Fax issues - Brother 1020e

Sounds like your phone cord is plugged into the "tel" or "phone" port on the back of the fax. It should be plugged into the "line" port.

BROTHER FAX MACHINE 2800

Your Brother machine#s Sleep Mode function reduces power consumption while the machine is idle. You can adjust how long your Brother machine is idle (between 00 and 99 minutes) before Sleep Mode is initiated. Please note that the default setting is 00 minutes, and the timer automatically resets itself after the Brother machine receives a fax, receives data from your PC, or makes a copy. To adjust your Brother machine#s Sleep Mode setting, please follow these steps:

1. Press MENU/SET, 1 (General Setup), 7 (Sleep Mode).

2. Use the dial pad to enter the amount of time the fax machine is idle before Sleep Mode is initiated (00 to 99 minutes).

3. Press the MENU/SET key to confirm your choice.

4. Press the STOP/EXIT key to exit the menu.

NOTE: If you frequently print, copy, or fax, set the idle time long
enough to insure that you will not always have to wait for the Brother machine to warm up.

Can receive, can't send

I spoke to someone at Brother. She told me to "massage the keys in a circular motion". Feeling very foolish I did this. Sure enough when I got to the number "7" it was stuck. The massaging released the key and my fax was working again.

Brother Fax 1020

The 1020 only had a hard copy manual (ie not on PDF). The 1020e was rework of the previous model of the 1020 so it should be pretty much the same. Try this link - http://www.remington.com.pg/PDF_files/Brother%20-%20Plain%20Paper%20Faxes/Fax%201020e/Fax%201020e%20User%20Guide.pdf
