Page memory. error
To clear the message on my Intellifax (although this is Intellifax 775), I followed these steps:
1. Unplug the Brother machine from the power outlet for 10 seconds.
2. Press and hold the STOP key.
3. While holding the STOP key, plug the power cord back into the power outlet.
4. After you plug the machine back in, continue to hold the STOP key for 5 seconds. [Also try waiting until you hear a long beep then let the key up.]
- The display should return to the date and time.
- If the display does not return to date and time, repeat STEPS 1 through 4.

Problems with replacement cartridges
I'm a technician from Australia. Your supplier is right - I see so many problem related to refilled or non-genuine cartridges. They are bad for your machine and will cause premature failure.
Basically the printer market is price driven. The manufacture is trying to compete with other manufactures to sell the machine as cheap as possible driving down the out lay for a new machine. So where do they make there money if the new machine are so cheap? On the cartridges of course. It is not uncommon for a drum to be more expensive than a new printer. Another example there was a printer going for $77 (in Australia that I do warranty for) they pay us $66 to fix it under warranty plus any part it may need. How can the manufacturer make money?
The re-fillers that are also prevalent here supply an inferior product that doesn't work as well. They have no outlay for R & D they just refill a cartridge that may have wearing parts aswell. The manufactures just have spend a lot money to some research and prove the fact that is obvious in mind and they could have the re-fillers over a barrel.
I make no money from the sale of cartridges but they make my job of repairing so much harder. So from a technician in other country use genuine please.
Discliamer - this based only on my expirence of repairing machines. I have no hard evidence or proof.

Will not ring
Setting the Ring VolumeYou can adjust the ring volume when your fax machine is idle. You can select a ring volume level or press until the ring is off.Press to adjust the volume level. With each key press, the fax machine rings so you
can hear the current setting and the LCD shows the setting you are
choosing. Each key press changes the volume to the next setting. The new
setting will remain until you change it again.

Good day Kate. Error 20:xx is a communication error. It means that the connection is being dropped while faxing. Here are the possible causes and solutions:
- The party that you are calling/faxing is experiencing a line quality problem. - Try to fax a gain at a later time.
- Your phone line has a problem. - Contact your phone line provider to check if they have any ongoing issues.
- The party that you are calling/faxing did not setup their incoming fax options properly. - This one should be resolved by the called party.
- Connections might be loose. - Check your phone line cables, make sure they are properly inserted to where they should be.
Most of the time, communication errors are caused by the called party or a line quality issue.

Changed film(only the 3rd time).
just cleaning the paper threader will solve the problem but do not use alcohol theres a possibility of melting the threader when a heat is applied it makes the rubber sticky and thr paper will wrapped to it.use a cloth soaked in water with a detergent soap squeeze a little and wipe it on the threader.examine the threader for any broken particles on the rubber causing a miss allignment when paper is feed....if you found any replace the theader..

Printing a Fax in Memory
If you have Fax Storage ON for remote retrieval, you can still print a fax in the
memory when you are at your machine:
1 Press Menu/Set, 8, 4.
2 Press Fax Start.
3 Press Stop/Exit.

Polling is the process of retrieving faxes from another fax machine. You can use your
fax machine to "poll" other machines, or you can have someone poll your machine.
All parties involved in polling need to set up their fax machines to accommodate
polling. When someone polls your machine to receive a fax, they pay for the call; if
you poll someone's fax machine to receive a fax, you pay for the call.
(See Canceling a Scheduled Job, page 6-5.)
Some fax machines do not respond to the Polling feature.
