Frozen I plugged my mp3 into the computer, and it froze. i tried to hold down the off button, but it just won't do anything!!! My song name is on the screen, and it has the lightning bolt icon on the battery, like it is charging. I don't want the screen to stay on till the battery dies, because the backlight will die!!! What should i do?

Press the reset button once with a pin/paper clip by the usb connection. If that does not work press the reset button again but this time hold the play button until a different screen comes up....then I selected clean up. [email protected]

Ipod 30gb video black

Try a reset

To reset your iPod:
  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip:
  • If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
  • If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Sansa disk e 260

I had the same problem with mine freezing. It happened when I kept pressing the back track button (on left side) to go back to an earlier song. It then froze in the middle of a song, couldn't hear the song, the time of the song was frozen, etc., and the unit stayed lit, despite pressing all the buttons. I tried holding down power but nothing happened. I read another person's post that you need to hold it down 15-30 seconds. I did this and it worked, you just have to hold it down until it shuts down, which was about 15 seconds as suggested, could be longer for others.
For me, next time I wont keep clicking the tracks repeatedly, I'll simply go out of the song and back to the song I want through the menu.
Thank you for the good posts. Glad I didn't have to mess with the battery like others....

After listening to the first song, i flipped to the next and it froze!

There should be a reset button at the back try this, or hold the power button for several seconds and see if it does anything.

If it's just frozen in on mode you can also wait for the battery to die and then try again.

Good luck.

Frozen screen

All you reaaly have to do is let the battery run out. Then once the mp3 is dead, charge it. The screen should be unfrozen.
