SOURCE: Hook an ipod to Pioneer DEH-16

The RCA jacks on the rear of the head unit are rear pre-amp outputs. (google it if you need an explination on what purpose they serve or see the installation guide) With that said, I am able to play my mp3 player through them but since they are 'rear' pre-amp outputs my mp3s only play on the rear speakers. see this post for more...

Hi, I have a pioneer DEH-P5500MP which always worked just fine but now when there is no cd in the radio it won't play so i try the source button but that doesn't work so i put a cd in and it starts...

It sounds like you may have a bad switch. If you have a multimeter you can check the switches for resistance. If the reading on any of the switches is less than a few megaohms it is probably bad.

DEH-2050MPG

Yesterday I installed the Pioneer DEH-2050MPG in an old Beetle I just bought, and had the same problem. The instructions were completely useless; Ignore them.

Here's how to set the time...

1. Hold the source button down until clock starts flashing.
2. Use arrow buttons to set time.
3. Press source again to save.

That's what worked for me.

I HAVE A PIONNER DEH-P6800MP

If your volume knob does nothing, then odds are your speaker outputs are blown. I would double check the setup menu to see if it has an internal amp shutoff, but I think only Alpines have this..
To access the menu, please do the following:
Press and Hold the "source" button until unit turns off.
Press and hold down the "multi-control" knob until the "language select" display appears.
Rotate the "multi-control" knob until you see something like "internal amp" or aything that looks like it would shut off the speaker outputs.....

Again, i don't think Pioneers have this, so odds are your aplifier chip is blown.
