We own a M3027X all in one printer and can no longer access the scan option due to a pin number. However, the personnel in my shop have somehow placed installed a pin and now no one can unlock it. Any tips on how to uninstall the pin code so that we can resume scanning?
I think you should read your manual about resetting to factory default. It should reset all pins and password that you have.
Bot the downside is that it also reset all your customized setting to the printer, ex: paper setting, resolution setting, etc. That means you have to do all customization from the time you first bought that printer :)

A Pin Unlock Code (PUC) or Pin Unlock Key (PUK) is used in GSM mobile phones and some smartcards to unblock a blocked SIM card. The basic of PUK code is,
SIM cards have their own security
on startup SIM cards ask for PIN code (4 digit)
If user enters it correctly then its accessible
If user enters it incorrectly 3 times (in some 7 times) PIN code is blocked. To stop brute force attempt.
Blocked PIN code is unlocked through PUC (Pin Unlock Code) or alternatively called PUK Pin Unlock Key which is 8 digit.
If PUK is entered correctly user sets new PIN code and SIM is accessible.
If PUK is entered incorrectly 3 times, then SIM is no longer usable or accessible and any data in it is lost.
Sim card security is managed by their providers which are usually network companies like vodafone, 3G, Orange and Virgin or T mobile etc... (Whatever is yours like U-Fone, Warid etc....)
NO ONE else can give PUK code. YOU HAVE TO ASK YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER/NETWORK for PUK.
Radio P.I.N. (Personal Identification Number)
Your PIN. must be entered if the battery is disconnected. The P.I.N. is shown on the
security card that was originally in the glovebox of the new car. Please keep the card in
a safe but accessible place (not in your car), as this safety feature is provided as a theft
deterrent.
To enter the P.l.N.:
•turn ignition to accessories and turn radio on ("1" or "CdE 1" appears),
•press the radio buttons in your P.I.N. order,
•the radio will shortly begin to play.
If an incorrect P.I.N. is entered the number "2" or "CdE 2" appears on the display.
Following three incorrect P.l.N.s the display shows" - - - ", and the radio must remain
connected to power for approx. one hour before the correct P.I.N. can be entered.
Therefore, if your car repair requires battery disconnection you may wish to provide the
servicing dealer with your PIN.
If the P.I.N. number is XXXX, contact your Holden Dealer. He will require proof of
ownership and the Vehicle Identification Number shown on the inside front cover of this
handbook. There may be a nominal charge for this service.
If you are unable to remember the PIN you put into the Wii, you will be prompted (when entering an incorrect PIN code) to supply the answer to the secret question you set.
If you can no longer remember your secret question's answer either, you will have to begin the PIN reset application here, through the official Nintendo website:
try calling your Mobile carrier and check if they can provide you the PUK code? In case they can, then you can enter the PIN incorrectly 3 times and it shall ask you for the PUK code. Put the PUK code that you got from your Mobile Carrier and you would be able to reset the PIN using it.
There are different kinds of unlock codes, one is a SIM PIN which does not allow anyone to access your SIM card and one is a security code which is to prevent someone from using your phone. If you put in the SIM PIN too many times incorrectly, it will ask for a PUK code or instruct you to contact customer service. Cust service can give you the PUK so you can reset your SIM PIN. If it is the security code, no matter how many times you enter it incorrectly it will not prompt you to call cust service. This code cannot be reset by your provider. In this case a warranty exchange or insurance claim my be your only options.
