I was recently given a dell printer, however am unable to upload printer as I do not have diskette to do so.the model number I believe is OTO526 and I have an inspiron 531 that I am trying to get printer connected to, I am more then willing to pay for the parts I need, just don't know what I need.
You can download the driver from dell
http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln129424/how-to-download-and-install-the-drivers-for-a-dell-a920-printer?lang=en#Issue0_3
You did not mention the operating system on your p.c but from the specs of the inspiron 531 it should be windows vista 64 bit.
you will find the driver at
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/4/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R153048
click on the link that says download file in blue writing
once downloaded run the file and it should start loading in the printers driver for your p.c.

Yes, it's an AC adapter.
Very similar to a power converter for a laptop
I had one of these printers before (I replaced it with a 966)
I don't have the part # but if you contact Dell they should be able to find and provide you with it.

You will be able to download the correct Vista software from here:

Click "Drivers" and follow the buttons for your printer name and model number.

SOURCE: Dell 1600n printer driver for Windows 2003 Server
I had a similar problem deploying these printers, however i found using the XP drivers in 2003 does work fine. Not sure why dell doesnt have an installer for this printer in 2003 server, but here you go.
ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/R165289.EXE
extract that file, note its destination directory. do not attempt to run the setup.exe, it will fail saying your operating system is not supported.
instead navigate to (if you didnt change the path) C:DelldriversR165289p0nPrinterPCLWINXP
this folder contains the driver you need to install manually.
one stange thing about these lexmark based network printers is the need to select 'local printer' during install, uncheck automatically search for my device, and then create a new TCP/IP port. Use the IP address provided by the network configuration print out you can access on the front panel of the printer. now just make sure to select 'lexmark network card' as the type of network interface. it should now ask you for your printer type, click have disk, and point to the driver folder mentioned earlier.
hope this helps. thanks alot dell.

You did not say which printer that you had. Is the disk that you are installing from specifically say that it is for the version of windows that you are presently using? Your computer came with either Xp or 2000.
