I have an LG washer, also..model number WM2016CW. When the washing cycle starts, the water goes through the fabric softener drawer first..wondering IF its supposed to do that?? Says in the owners manual, the fabric softener will 'add' at the last rinse cycle..I don't think this is quite right..anyone else have this issue before I call the mechanic?I have an LG washer, also..model number WM2016CW. I managed to solve this problem on my own on the lg washer,
the fabric softener drawer/compartment had to be comletely stripped and thoroughly, cleaned, ideally with a pressure washer. This did the trick perfectly!

90% of greasy marks on cloths is due to scum build in the outer bowl of your machine...top loaders being the most vulnerable. prevention is better than cure. At least one hot wash a week on high level. If your machine is an early model one or two with a good bleach subject to manufacturers instruction...bleach is very cost effective and works well.
Check and see if there is a cup in the top of the agitator. Some machines have you put it there, turning back and forth during wash doesn't bother it, but the spin to empty the wash water causes the softener to go out through slots in the top of the cup and be held in the agitator. when it stops the softener drains into the tub, ready for the rinse cycle.
This is normal.
All LG washers use a siphon system to dispense soap, bleach and fabric softner.
Some times water will remain in the cups depending on the cycle used.
ftr loader washers do not have any oil, my guess would be you are using fabric softner . that can stain clothes. dilute with water, they are very concentraded. or your dispenser may not be working properly and not releasing softner at the proper time.i would run a clean cycle through it. meaning set on a hot wash- regular cycle no clothes and run wirth bleach in bleach disenser. do this every other month to keep washer clean hope this helps. make sure its not happening in the dryer , the dryer has frt and rear seals that go bad and start leaving marks on clothes and catching them in beteween the tub.
The water level is very low on front load machines. (Below the bottom of the door) While the washer is running, push and hold the "spin speed" and "soil level" buttons at the time. Display should be between 230 and 255.(normal) If you do this while the machine is filling, you will see the numbers change. This machine only uses about 12 gallons of water for an entire cycle, vs. about 45 for some top loading machines. THIS IS NORMAL ! The machine will adjust the amount of water based on the type and volume of clothes in your washer. On a large load, you will see wet clothes, but no water sloshing around. PS. Because the machine uses so little water, make sure you use only one tablespoon of HE detergent (and only one teaspoon of fabric softner if you use it). This is very important.

hi there are you using concentrated softner if so water is down as some softners are to thick to go through the dispenser also give the whole drawer a soak in hot soapy water incase there are any blockages.
