Xb31 digital projector

My xb31 digital projector still projects, but is showing a shadow. I took it to a repair person and they said I have a cracked inside lens and she didn't see that this part could be ordered. I really want my projector repaired because I can't afford to buy a new one right now. Does anyone know someone in the metro Atlanta area who may be able to repair my projector?

There are many so called shops. But I highly recommend an authorized or certified shop. Although HP is no longer making projectors, there are still authorized and certified shops in Atlanta. We can not direct you to one at this time. Good luck.

I have an HP XB31 Projector with a broken color wheel. Is there someplace to get a new / replacement wheel without having to buy a used or broken projector on e-bay?

You should be able to get the part directly from HP. See Here.
enter your serial number or parts code and viola.
If it's not listed on the site. Call them. They have many parts not available online over the phone.

There a blue shadow next to every person or picture

on the back of your projector there should be a switch that says some thing like normal-service or something similar to that
place the switch in service, and a kind of grid lookig pattern should show on the screen
next look for the adjustment screws for the colors, because it sounds like the blue position has shifted on you,
this may be caused from moving the tv, or from bumping it.
the adjustment screws may be exposed to where you can acces them easily, or it may require you to take off the back of the projector and adjust them that way
go very slow with your adjustments, as a small movement may cause a big change on the screen.
if your projector has a separate lens array then you will have to adjust the lens position.
for that, there should be adjustment screws located on the side and top of the lens, that way you can adjust both horizontal and vertically.

The right vertical side of the projected picture seems to be slightly shadowed. Is this the lens or for some strange reason is the bulb going out? It only has about 200-300 hours of use on it

if you have the dp6150 (lcd projector), you have a lens or mirror out of alignment, or something obstructing the light from the inside. if you have a dlp projector (not the dp6150), the light tunnel has collapsed and needs to be replaced. you can get the part from an infocus service center (like av solutions in ny), or send it to them for repair. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

CRACKED

The Stress of impact on the imaging forming unit that is directly behind the projection lens has a flat glass surface. If it is cracked the stress cracks would project with any image because they are on the same plane as the image
