You sound like you have dust on your image sensor. Go to Micro-tools.com and search for their section on cleaning sensors - they have a full set of instructions. they also sell supplies. But beware it is easy to scratch the sensor if you press too had. Do at your own risk.

Do not use Q tips on sensors. Ever!!!

I have black spots on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 lens camera

If you want to know if these spots are on the sensor. Or you want to exclude this, You could try this:
Put the camera in A priority. (manual mode). Turn the aperture to the highest setting. Greatest figure like f 22 I can't find the exact figure. It could be it is only 8. Then in a bright light, take a picture of a white sheet of paper. The picture that comes out, should be checked on dark spots. If they are there the spots are on the sensor. If you can't find the spots on the white picture, something else is wrong.

Convergence does not work. Black spot in corner of picture

Convergence will not cause the black spot--picture will look 3d or colors skewed, confirm model please and a clear idea of what set is doing or not.

Dell w4201c no picture just bright colored spots

Was this set moved or transported? Is it possible someone struck the screen even if mildly?

If you can take a few good pictures and post them somewhere on the internet and provide the location--seeing what it looks like might tell what is wrong.

A classic description: set comes on but is a black swirling cloud where images can be dimly seen but are not clear--gets a little better after a few minutes but never gets normal.

Black spot in the middle of the screen looks like it has a burned spot

Yes if it uses 3 picture tubes one is burnt dead center--cover the lens one at a time to see which is causing this--permanent damage caused by a arc.

If a newer set you have a display unit with a dead pixel.

Black spot

Hi,

If the black spot is always on the same location then you have to clean your lens, if it changes location, bring it to the service center for firmware reload.

I hope this helps.

Polaroid camera 1739 has black spots on picture

you should be able to clean the exterior of the lens with a clean microfiber cloth or lens cleaning papers (available at even wal-mart). If the spots are in the inside of the lens body, you have to send this in to be cleaned as the camera will have to be disassembled to do it right.

Black spot in screen

Nice picture illustrates the problem very clearly. It seems to be out of focus and as it is recorded on your pics ( as I understand), it must be something in the optics. See if you can peer down the lens at the front of the camera to see it there is something trapped between the lenses. You may need a strong light to do this. Shake the camera (gently) to see if it moves.

Let me know how you get on.

cheers

Black spot on pictures, and lcd viewing

Hey cj17,
Since this spot is both on your lcd and your pictures the lcd is most likely not to blame. This spot is probably caused either by dirt on the lens or the sensor, or it could be caused by a dead pixels on the sensor. You can try cleaning the lens, and if this doesn't work you should have it looked at by an authorized service technician.

Sincerely,
Allan
