I have a Samsung Syncmaster 2333 that I've been using with not problems for 6 months. I was using it today hooked up to be computer, and during a storm there was a power outage. When the power came back, the screen was black but on, and the computer was on. I hit buttons on the side until a box popped up saying "Check Signal Cables" with Digital beneath it. I have checked the cable plugging it into the other slot, rebooted both machines multiple times, but nothing has worked.

sounds like it might be a graphics card. if u have an old graphics or vidio card, open the case and remove your card then install the old one. if it works now youll know your card is bad. If u have an old video card and an open pci slot install it and move the monitor cable to the old video card plugin. if it works now same thing your graphics card is bad. to know which card to remove just remember which one the monitor is plugged into.

Check if the monitor is not working by connecting this monitor to another computer.
If the monitor woks on another pc, then the pc is the issue and not the monitor.
If monitor doesnt work on the other pc, then it's the monitor that needs replacing.
I hope this helps you :)
