Were to find fm radio and does it rely on internet for said service. Thanks Nigel

FM radio in the Defy comes bundled in the music player. Firstly, connect the wired headset, because it will act both for listening to the FM radio, and as as the FM antenna itself. Ok, either go to its icon, (in the 6th home screen), or go to 'Start (the circle in all the home screens) > Music'. Then, if the last music you played comes up, press 'Menu > Music Home'.
Before you click on 'Radio', on the home screen, if you are worried about data usage, be warned that it will occur if you want lyrics to be shown as music is being played. If you want that feature, but don't want to use your carrier's data plan, you can turn your phone's Wi-Fi on, and connect to either your home network or a plublic access point. If you need further informations on how to do it, please, let me know. To turn this feature off, go to 'Menu > Settings > Display lyrics' and make sure that 'Show lyrics in player' is unchecked. Press the back button, then 'Data Usage', where you'll find checkboxes for 'Download song data' and 'WiFi only purchasing'. Set them accordingly. Press the back button twice, then 'Radio'. You are now listening to the FM tuner. After finishing, press the back button until you reach any of the home screens.
You'll notice that the embedded FM player is able to play sound on the wired headset only. It this is if fine for you, we're done here. Neverteless, this standalone application (many thanks to yipyipyip) doesn't even require that the wired headset be plugged in, at all. If you are not subscribed to xda-devs, do it. Download link in the first post. Download it and copy it to anywhere on your phone (e.g. sdcard). Then, go to 'Menu > Settings Applications', and make sure that 'Unknown sources' is checked. Press the back button twice to finish. Now, go to 'Start > File Manager > Memory card', and navigate to the apk file you have downloaded. Click over it, and you will be prompted to install it. Then, go to 'Start > FM radio' and have fun!

I have an ONKYO TX-SR606 receiver and I am trying to listen to FM radio using more than just the center channels. I have gone through the setup screens for the tuner and only Analog choices are available....

Hello,
In reality the correct way to listen to radio or any music source for that matter is in 2 channel stereo. What this means is that the front left and right will play and also the subwoofer. If you absolutely want all your speakers to play while listening to fm, than press the Multi channel button and set it to direct, or any other sound field that you may desire.
Good Luck

I have a XM delphi skyfi3 and I can record songs and listen to the radio portion fine. However, I cannot play my recorded music back on the my music mode, regardless of whether the xm is in the cradle or...

You must have a subscription and listen 'live' 8 hours a month, or it doesn't let you listen to recorded content anymore (thanks to the RIAA and their royalty fees to XM)

My sansa clip won't play the songs I loaded on!

I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.

Sound card won't work with external input

Are you trying to record and listen at the same time? It doesn't usually work that way, the computer has to process and encode the audio signals before they can be listened to. Once you restore the computer, are you able to listen to the recording? If you have onboard sound, rather than a separate sound card, all the audio processing is done by your CPU. If you are trying to listen to the audio as it is being recorded, you are probably overloading the capabilities of the device and its shutting itself down. Try to record without listening. Also make sure you have the latest drivers. If it is onboard audio, check the manufacturer's website for updates. If you know that it is Realtek AC 97 (probably says so your manual), you can download new drivers from the Realtek website.
