Refilled x5495 cartridge

I have a Lexmark X5495 printer and I had it refilled , I still have a message that goes "Order new ink" or something and i check the cartridge but it is full. I try restarting the printer and even the computer but the printer STILL won't let me print.

I have the same issue. I would like to disable this prompt as it won't let me print at all....even though the previous page before the error appeared printed in perfect black.

I have the same problem.  Lexmark told me that you have to use Lexmark ink to have technical support.  Tried to clean it and it still isn't working.

Hey jose022-it sounds like the ink on the header has dried up . Try pulling the cartridge back out and blotting it on a clean napkin .I f there isn't a small display of the three colors on the napkin , the cartridge end probably dried up before you refilled it.In this case you need to use the head cleaner kit and follow the instuctions that comes with it.
If there isn't aclear low of all three colors coming out the sensor will recognize it as only as the previous empty cartridge.

good luck !

Go to http://www.lexmark.com and select "Drivers and Downloads." I believe there is a new driver for the Cartridge Wizard software that you can download and install. Good luck!

I have a Lexmark X5495 printer, and I refilled the black cartridge. Is there any way to override the ink levels?

Once a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer report it's true ink level. Just an FYI: you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark to pass through microscopic nozzles at extremely high temperatures.

Refillable cartridges for X5495

34 and 35 are refillable. The ones you get with your printer aren't.
Now, I don't understand why the colors are mixed. Is the 35 you tried a new cartridge or a refilled one?

I have a lexmark x5495, what is the file that that moniters and reports ink levels? It is what stops me from being able to use my own refilled ink cartridges.

Hi there

Lexmark and Brother printers has made the pritners this way so it can not use refills.

You can not reset the inks that I know of on a Lexmark sorry.

When i get my ink cartridge refilled printer says cartridge low on ink

The magic words "refilled cartridge" says it all. Like all the other makers they put a little bit of ID info on each cartridge. This is detected when "replacing" there own existing empty / dried up cartridge.

Refilling uses the same cartridge and so no new cartridge ... so to the simple low tech sensor .. you are still out of ink. Lex usually asks questions to verify old new etc. Don't worry enjoy the low cost re filling gives you. You can also turn off the messages .. GL be happy

Lexmark x5495

Lexmark does not allow refilled cartridge on any of their products.

Lexmark, HP and Canon and-many other vendors use proprietary code to protect themselves against the damage of OEM inks.

All companies will void warranties.

I just refilled black ink of my new printer Lexmark x5495. Does not recognise the black cartilage and keeps on asking for alignment. When it prints alignment page it does not use the refilled black ink....

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

HOW TO REFILL LEXMARK X5495 PRINTER

When you try refilling your ink cartridges, you are taking chances that something may go wrong. I would search the web and purchase re-manufactured ink cartridges, which would be less expensive than the new ones from Lexmark.

Lexmark x5495

Lexmark advertises the cartridges supplied with this printer as cart. #28 and #29. They claim these are nonrefillable. The refillable cartridges are #28a,29a, 34 and 35, the last two being the high yield carts. Make sure you have one of these.
