My Daewoo ERF 334M Fridge/Freezer has a little ice in the bottom of the freezer and is spilling water onto the floor - think it may be a blockage in the drainage pipe but do not know where this is located - can you help.

The water filter should be changed every six months, not two years.
The water lines may still be frozen even though you turned the unit off, but most likely you are not getting water flow due to a clogged filter. Change it.

SOURCE: Ice forming at bottom of Daewoo freezer. How do I fix this

Look on the back of the unit for a plastic hose coming out the bottom to a drain pan usually sat on top of the compressor. Bend a straw and push up inside. If it won;t go, there is a blockage, usually ice in the drain. Fully defrost the freezer and blow through the straw until clear.

Freezer drain is clogged, I guess, water dripping on the floor, ice buildup on bottom of second door, it has an ice machine built in, what do I do? I'm a female.

Good Morning Andi.

the good news is that the fridge is not likely doing this because you're female, and your description of what has happened with power outages sounds like that's very likely the culprit - a fair amount of melted water dripping, then power comes on and freezes water in the drain.

I don't know your specific model, or if you know where the drain is. it's likely down in the bottom of the freezer compartment. If you remove the lower drawer, or unpack the lowest area, the floor will likely slope toward either an overt hole, or to a slit/hole in the back. If there is actual ice frozen on the lowest shelf/shell of the freezer, you'll want to get rid of it.

Easiest and safest route (as in least likelihood of damaging the freezer or hurting anyone)
  1. Turn the fridge off. It won't be off long enough to risk much thawing, but you don't want the cooling coils actively pulling heat from what you do in the next step.
  2. Hot, even scalding water. Especially if there is overt ice at the bottom, pour small dribbles in at the edge. Some will go across the ice and melt a bit of the bulk. Some will trickle down between the ice and the freezer floor. Do this a couple times, then see if you can pry up sections of the ice from the floor. Pull out as much as you can of the bulk ice. You'll likely want to get a couple of towels out since you'll likely get some water on the floor.
  3. Once you've cleared overt ice from the freezer floor, pour some more hot/scalding water onto the plug, or into wherever the floor slopes to. Be patient and don't pour too big a volume. Ideally, after a few modest pours, you'll get water coming out from under the fridge. If the lower panel will pop loose, get in and use a towel to pick up as much of the water as you can. pour a bit more hot water through and verify it pours through to the floor (or possibly a catch pan).
  4. If you get this far, dry the freezer floor as best you can with the towels, replace the drawer or any unpacked foods, close the freezer, and turn the fridge back on. It will probably be back to normal.

    Good Luck!

Daewoo frsu20iai freezer builds ice at bottom and starts to defrost some items?

Try clearing all vents - inside (make sure vents not covered - in fridge and freezer) and outside (gently vacuum - the coil areas in the back and bottom of fridge)

Why does my daewoo fridge freezer works intermittently ?

You either have a faulty thermostat, a loose connection or most likely a build up of ice inside the freezer. I had the same problem. Almost replaced fridge. Took all the food out one day, took out the racks and disassembled bottom and rear and found a two foot log block of ice inside air return. Removed ice everything works perfectly.

Frozen water on bottom of whirlpool model evl181nxtq01

I assume that the water is on the bottom of the fridge compartment? It could be that the drain trough has blocked and every time the fridge does an auto defrost, water runs out onto the floor of the fridge rather than down the drain. Once the defrost finishes, the water will stay on the floor of the fridge. Cold air falls to the bottom so its possible to get a sheet of ice in the bottom of the fridge. Locate the drain trough in the back wall of the fridge. See if you can visually locate any blockages or carefully dribble warm water down the drain to clear it.

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance.
