I have a Daewoo FRN U20DA type american fridge freezer. The Ice maker has sropped working. There is no water getting into it. There is water getting through to the water dispenser in the front door. the filter light is off (although I have never chenged the filter (2 yrs) ). I have turned the unit off to allow it to be defrosted and cleaned thinking th pipes could be plocked with ice, without any effect. The motors which drive the tray mechanism all work, you can hear the workings of the ice maker moving exactlya s if the machine was working normally. Hope someone can help? Thanks Trevor

The water filter should be changed every six months, not two years.
The water lines may still be frozen even though you turned the unit off, but most likely you are not getting water flow due to a clogged filter. Change it.

Why does my daewoo fridge freezer works intermittently ?
You either have a faulty thermostat, a loose connection or most likely a build up of ice inside the freezer. I had the same problem. Almost replaced fridge. Took all the food out one day, took out the racks and disassembled bottom and rear and found a two foot log block of ice inside air return. Removed ice everything works perfectly.

The freezer compartment of my daewoo FRN-U20DA is not cold enough and the ice is melting. The fan does not come on and there is no fault indicated on the display panel.
when the fan is not working. you cannot expect an ice cause the fan is to drive the cold to become an ice and to maintain the coldness.

the ice maker has built in heater underneath. thats how the ice detaches itself from the ice maker and the fingers rotate them out.. if you have ice in the ice maker then replace ice maker
