LD is possessed

I have had problems with my touchscreen for the last 6 - 8 months. If I tap anywhere on the screen above the bottom bar (where the home button is, everything is fine. However, tapping on any of the small buttons on that bar usually causes the capslock by deafult [ABC] setting to be set.

So for some reason touching in that bottom area is off by a few pixels up. I have tried to re calibrate the touchscreen and each time the results are the same.

Try PowerDiGi on http://www.palmpowerups.com/news.php. I've just found this site and successfully used the SDHC driver, but make sure you follow the instructions to the letter, particularly the creating your palmpowerups user account before ordering.

Buttons on screen jump around

Ok I have a few questions. When you mean it jumps around do you mean:

1. When you press a 3, the 3 button becomes a 7 graphically or
2. When you press a 3, the 7 button is highlighted and chosen.

The first thing I would do is try to recalibrate your touchscreen by pressing the wrench symbol, then the display icon and select calibrate screen. Press the series of dots as you are asked to do and see if that clears up your problem.

If that doesn't work, then I would do a reflash/ugrade of the firmware. Perhaps the firmware is corrupted. This can be done by dowloading Garmin's webupdater at www.garmin.com and connecting your Nuvi to your PC and letting the program reflash your firmware.

The last solution is to replace the touchscreen. Are you sure the screen is not cracked anywhere? A cracked screen will certainly cause a touchscreen to either not work or activate another button when pressed.

Screen Alignment of Motorola E6 not responding at Bottom right

there's two possibility, which for ur case i suppose, a simple format will help. Format ur phone (soft format goes with -- factory setting) which i remind you, it will erase all your data, back up ur datas to computer first or to ur memory card, and ur phone book to simcard or to pc, anywhere u want. the hard format-- u must go to technician after the soft format fail.

if the two format doesn't help at all, that means ur touchscreen surface is having problem, bring it to technician to get it fixed.

hope u get lucky by just formating - cost u nothing.Gud luck

No gps device

Hi,

Sometimes it can take a TomTom many minutes to obtain satellites. To give it a chance and to test it make sure you have a clear 180 degree view to the south ( that's if you are in the northern hemisphere ) . Its to the north if you are in the southern hemisphere.
So, put the TomTom with it's back facing the equator ( all the GPS satellites are above the equator in an arc ) it's almost straight up in fact but towards the equator.
If you switch on , let it boot up , then tap the screen near the bottom right where you see a bar graph . ( see photo's and finger indicates where to tap position )
The screen will change to another screen and again you should have the bar graph on right hand side with a battery symbol either below or above. once again tap the bar graph and a larger STATUS screen should appear. You should be able to see the TomTom scanning for satellites . Any it receives will be GREY but grey ones are not yet locked on. If any of the bars on the TomTom get a fix or lock on they will turn BLUE . Only when the TomTom has 3 or more BLUE satellites can it present a fix on your location. If none of the bars on the graph ever turn BLUE then you have a faulty TomTom or possibly corrupted data on the SD card. If you get ANY of the bars turn BLUE then it's likely your TomTom is working OK but is just having difficulty locking onto any satellites. You might have to wait a while or move location.
Once the TomTom gets a fix , even if you turn it off then on again it will remember what satellites it was locked onto before so it should not need to scan again and should find the satellites real quick or at least quicker. See photographs below for the 3 stages to go through to check status.
( NOTE : The photograph shows a TomTom ONE v2 but almost all models of TomTom show similar screens ) See last photo where one of the bars is GREY , this shows it's receiving that satellite but it's not strong enough to get a fix from it. The last bar shows the TomTom knows there is a satellite there but currently has no signal from it. The BLUE bars show good reception and fixes on those satellites.
I do hope this helps solve your problem but if not then please revisit this forum and post any questions again and i'll see if I can help.

Getting past the 'Align Screen'

Had the same problem starting about 3 months ago with my Axim X5. Couldn't get the touchscreen to respond in order to input my password. However when I sync it to my computer I had better success at getting the touchscreen to work and respond. Tried the business card tip of sliding it between the touchscreen and metal cover/frame of the PDA and now it seems to work even better. Great tip. Hope it becomes the more permanent fix for getting my PDA touchscreen to respond. Mack
