Off ice maker

Unplug the ice maker inside the freezer where it plugs into the wall of the freezer. You also can disconnect the ice maker side of the water inlet valve, or is yours a different model number than the model listed above your post? Sea Breeze

Can you see a spot on the handle where an Allen wrench can fit into it? it either has an Allen wrench screw to tighten it or it has to be slid into the spot that holds it into place.

My fridge starts with a loud click MDB 2256GEW

I wouldn't be too worried about it, that is just the temperature control closing and sending power to the conpressor and condenser motor. That is completely normal operation

MAKING ICE TOO SLOW

A lot of times, the reason ice production slows down is because the freezer isn't cold enough, usually because the freon level of the machine is low. Sounds weird, but even though the freezer is below 32 degrees F, which is freezing, the ice maker requires the temperature be below 10 to function properly. Another cause for the temperature not being cold enough is if the coils are dirty and ther machine is passing the heat to the machine itself If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jason_4570d45317834dd3

Freezer or refridgerator not cool both fan and

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

I have a Maytag refrigerator

The problem is Maytag was bought by Whirlpool just about the time you bought your refrig and Whirlpool warranty is 5 years on compressor. Are you sure though it's the compressor a lot of times when it doesn't cool it's a defrost problem OR the relay on the compressor is burnt, the actually compressor was warrantied by Maytag for 10 years the relay attaches to the compressor but it only had 2 year part warranty and 1 year labor warranty since it isn't the actual compressor buta external part that attaches to the compressor

My Maytag refrigerator is not

I had the same problem and had to change the control board, the technician showed me how to defrost manually to keep the fridge cold until he could get the new control board and change it.

Open the refrigerator door push in the light button to turn off the light inside the fridge at the top (keep it pushed in) then push the left button of the refrigerator temperature setting 3 times and let go of the light button the letter "d" will be displayed. Push the left button one more time number "5" will be displayed, push the left button a third time and you will hear noises this should start the defrost process. Wait a while then open the freezer and check the coils on the back wall of the freezer, the ice should have melted. Wait a couple of hours and your fridge should start getting cold again.

My Maytag refrigerator (MBF2556HEW) keeps

Hi,

You can fix the problem yourself, all you have to do is to follow the procedure that is below,

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Take care in solving the problem.....

The newest defrost feature in modern fridges is the electronic adaptive defrost control board. To put this adaptive defrost style of fridge into defrost, short with a small screwdriver between L1 and test on the adaptive defrost board, wait 3 seconds and you should hear a "click" noise from the relay and the fridge will shut off and go through a defrost cycle
