Ice maker not making ice after electric buzzing/grinding noise
I have a feeling that the condenser has overheated due to lack of ventilation or overload... in which case it could be stuffed! same happened to mine and had that clay stuff melting as well... took it to an aircon mechanic and he had a look and said new parts would cost more than a new ice maker :( that suckt! lol! so bought new one....
When it is lcooling it has now begun tomake loud vibrations.
it is most likely from the frame of the fridge that the compressor is mounted on vibrating on the floor
I use two door wedges ( available from the hardware shop and I push one under either side a bit to get clearance from the floor
the noise stopped but the problem is that there is nothing available on the market to replace the wedges
rubber buttons under the plate worked but to stop the noise they tend to make the fridge unstable when opening the door or the front of the fridge has to be adjusted up so that the door self closes
try that and if it works the you are on the right rack
if not you may have to get the compressor rubber mounts replaced as they may have collapsed and allow the compressor to hit on the plate
Water leaking from the bottom of frig
Your deforst drain is clogged. Every 12 hours or so your fridge does a deforst cycle. It melts all of the ice built up on the evap coils. There is a drain at the back of the fridge that goes to a pan by the compressor where the heat from the compressor and the condensor coils evaporates it. Take the back panel off of the freezer compartment and plunge out that hole. You will most likely have a build up of ice over the top of the drain.
Maytag side by side refrigerator ice forms at the bottom of freez
Your drain is probably plugged. Remove the back panel in the freezer and keep squirting hot water down the drain hole with a turkey baster or something similar until it clears. The drain hole is located at the bottom of the coils in the freezer section. Your refrigerator goes into defrost every 8 to 10 hrs. When this happens, it melts the ice on the coils, which in turn, runs out the hole where the drain is. If something like algae is blocking or plugging the hole, it will plug up causing water to freeze over the hole. The water has nowhere to go but out the door.
How do I get the ice maker to produce for the first time
Is the arm that gets pushed up by the ice cubes (in order to stop making ice when it is full) in the down position? it is able to be pushed up and locked so that the icemaker doesn't make at ice and may need to be pushed down.
Fridgerator not cooling
I've had the same problem and it is the thermister inside the freezer compartment. There is probably a ice build up there too. remove the 2 screws and check, you can fix this yourself and save $100 bucks.
What would make our maytag side by side drip water up top near the freezer side. I just noticed today that the door on frig side doesn't seem to be closing tight. Anything we can do?
not sure what is blocking your door from closing tight. there are adjustment screws on the top of the door hinges under the plastic caps that align the doors.(they are there on my maytag side by side). the water could be from some ice buildup in side the housing at the top of the inside of your fridge where the flap opens up to send cold air from the freezer to the fridge, especially if your door has not been closing properly that will ice up trying to keep the fridge cold. remove everything from your fridge, unplug it and take a blow dryer to that housing to remove any ice buildup on the flap then plug it back in. there are also diagnostic checks you can do using the temperature control buttons to test if the flap is working properly as well. they are in your owners manual.
Maytag refrigerator will not dispense water
When you use a glass and try to get water, if you hear a click or buzzing sound, the water switch is working, if not it is an electrical problem, the water solenoid valve could be bad, or the switch. One other thing to check is the filter on the water line. Some have an extra filter. Turn the water off, disconnect the filter and see if you can blow through the filter. There is a screen filter just before the water valve check it to.
Why does the freezer work but the fridge does not cool down
You have a defrost, or air circulation problem. If there is ice on the inside of the freezer walls it is probably a defrost problem, provided the freezer fan motor is running. If it isn't running the fan motor is the problem. If the motor is running it is a defrost problem. Three things can cause a defrost problem, the defrost heater is bad, the defrost terminator is bad, or the defrost timer is bad. On the newer refrigerators the defrost is controlled by a control circuit board. If it is bad it can be expensive. If you have an older refrigerator, I recommend replacing the defrost timer, the defrost heater and defrost terminator. When one goes bad, it effects the stability for the other parts to function properly, so replacment of all is best.
Freezer side and fridge side not working, temps are freezer 30 fridge 50
Most likely the condenser coil is dirty. It is under the fridge, clean it with a vacuum, or air pressure, blow it out outside it will ne dusty . There are two to three fans. One by the compressor, called a condenser fan. If it is a side by side, usually there is a fan in the freezer section, and one in the refrigerator section. All need to work. If all this is and the compressor is running then chances are the compressor has bad valves. Make sure there is no ice on the coils in the refrigerator and freezer coils. If there is ice you have a defrost problem, which can be fixed. If the compressor has bad valves, get a new refrigerator.
