Purchase either a new VGA-VGA cable, or if your PC has a white DVI-D socket, a DVI-DVI cable, both relatively cheap options and test this simple option before any further troubleshooting. Many computers and monitors will go to sleep (automatically switch off) after not being used after an adjustable period of time. Hi sir/mam i have nec
search the internet for DriverPak solutions v14 iso. this is an all in one driver disk that has literally thousands of drivers for just about all hardware. its a free dvd iso so if you find it online and they want to charge you just look someplace else. there is a v15 and i just noticed there is a 17 out. but 14 was the last version that had no advertising or pop-ups. and since youre using Windows XP you should be fine. also be sure to make a recovery point before updating your system.
good luck
