From memory, they were about 675 watts? Most MW's are between 500 & 1000watts, from "those" days.

Is the cubic foot size of the microwave on the name plate?? It seems that with Emerson the size relates closely to the wattage .. 0.9 cu ft is 900 watts, 1.1 cu ft is 1000 watts .. 0.7 cu ft is 700watts .. That would be the closest info I can get.

Remove the cover and check the fuse on the floor of the device ... near the entry point of the power cord.

it could be fixed but at what cost?
ask your self how old is the microwave?
would a new one cost less to buy, there very cheep now, is it worth the repair price,,, however please dont think of having a go at it yourself
there are 1000's of volts inside of this microwave stored in the capacitor even if its been switch off for a long time, this capacitor can kill you if you go tuching it, is it realy worth taking that risk?
have you ever seen a stun gun working??? it realy hurts you!
but this microwave has the stun gun's very big brother inside of it,,
it dont stun you,,, it kills you,,,
and all that to save a fuw bucks?

I believe that your control board is bad, and will need replacement. This part would probably be to costly versus a new unit. Only a warranty replacement would I advise a fix.
