On the bottom front panel there are about three screws. Remove them. Then you will have direct access to the drain filter.Twist open drain filter slowly, water will come out so put a heavy duty garbage bag underneath to catch water

My sansung washer keeps getting a 5c or sc code on the front

The 5C error code indicates that the washer is not draining properly. There may be an issue with a blockage or sharp twist in the drain hose or the hose isn't at the right position relative to the washer. The hose should not be more than 6" into the stand pipe and should not develop an air lock. There could be debris in the filter area before the drain pump, or a problem with the pump. For a front loading washer, get a bucket to catch some of the water in the system. Unplug the washer and remove the appropriate panel to access the debris filter area. Open the filter cover and look for foreign objects. (Coins are a frequent item that will collect in this area.) Remove any foreign objects. Look into the machine at this opening and check if something could be blocking the impeller of the pump. If you see any damage to the impeller, replace the parts.

See https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00030150/ for accessing the debris filter on most Samsung front-load washers.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of the washer for further assistance.

How do I fix the "sud" code

The Sud code indicates that the washer is seeing excess suds coming into the drain pump. This can be caused by using the wrong (non-HE) or too much detergent. It could also indicate that the pump filter is clogged. Sometimes, it indicates something that is partially blocking the pump's impeller.

Since you didn't indicate the model, you will need to look for your drain pump filter. Have a bucket handy to catch the water that is in the unit. You'll need to take off an access panel or probably the lower back panel of the washer. Open the filter and remove any foreign objects. Look into the area and check for debris that got into the pump area. Remove any objects and check that the impeller isn't damaged.

If you used too much detergent or a non-HE detergent, run the washer empty without adding more detergent. Do this until you do not see suds in the tub during the wash cycle.

I hope this helps. If you need a better idea of how to access the drain filter on your machine, please add a comment with the make and model.

When the washing machine is draining it starts to make a grinding noise

Hi.

Access the drain filter and check for foreign objects in there. In this model the access for the drain filter should be located at the front bottom of the machine, behind a trim. Other models have the access at the back. Disconnect power, locate access, remove cap, collect water using a container and check for blockage or foreign objects in there.

Regards.

Code e20 showing

This code is pertaining to a blocked drain. Check the drain hose for clogs and kinks then clear it. There is also a filter located inside the big black hose, the tub-to-pump hose, that runs from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump. It can be accessed through the bottom front panel and can be taken out for cleaning.

Remove the screws attaching the bottom front panel then
pull the panel down and off. Prop up the front bottom edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access the screws more easily. Loosen the clamp securing the tub-to-hose pump to the bottom of the tub then take the filter out and remove the debris. You should find foreign objects such as coins, toothpicks, hairpins and the likes blocking the filter. Clear the filter from foreign objects and inspect the pump impeller by turning it with your finger. The impeller may be restricted or damaged resulting in the water not pumped out properly. Replace the pump if the impeller is broken or restricted and doesn't turn freely. Reassemble the machine by following the steps above in reverse order.

The top ring of the filter MUST be seated
in the 3rd convolution from the bottom when installing the filter in the coin trap.

Have you check the pump, all front load washer drain before filling. If you have coins or foreign object inside pump the can be the cause of scraping noise. I would also check the tub for nails or object that can poke through and tub on the outer tub during rotation. Most of the time its a foreign object in the pump issue. Good luck..

What is code F 02

HI. this code represents a Long Drain issue.

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects(Actual drain filter location and procedure below)
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

How to Check your drain pump filter for foreign objects:

Most likely, this issue will be the cause of a clogged drain filter. Use my procedure below to help locate and clean this filter.

First, you will need to unplug your unit and shut off the rear water faucets that feed the unit. The pump has a clean out filter located at the front, behind the lower section of the front panel, that allows for the removal of large objects that may have passed from the basket. You will need to remove the front panel to access this large object filter device. Now, Once you have located the drain filter cap; Push twits and pull out the filter cap that is visible. Clear out any debris and wipe the filter and the surrounding area with a mild detergent. If needed, wear gloves and use vinegar or bleach to remove odors, mold and mildew. Rinse the parts completely, if possible. Next; Remove the drain hose and clean it with a mild detergent or warm water. If necessary, again use vinegar or bleach to remove odors and mildew. Completely purge this hose. Once the drain hose has been purged, Reconnect the drain hose and filter. Next; Place the front panel back on the unit. Reconnect the inlet hoses and plug in the unit and turn it back on for a test run. If the cleansing dose not produce positive results, replace the drain pump.

Click here to access service manual for your unit. The actual component access procedures dealing with this issue will be on page 3-10 in the manual provided under the title"PUMP MOTOR". Front door and panel removal procedures are also described in this manual. This will start on page 4-1. Foucuse on pages 4-3 and 4-4 for front panel removal to access the drain pump and filter assembly.

Kenmore elite washer drain problem

“F02” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump
