Unfortunately F06 E02 is a very bad error. It means you have an interface communication error. That means that the main control board isn't communicating with the front interface control board. You can pull the washer out and remove the 3 screws coming in from the back of the top panel. Next, the top panel will pull straight back, up, and off. Now check all the wire connections between the two control board and make sure they are all secure. If everything looks good, then the interface control board will need to be ordered and replaced.
Here is a link to the part.

SOURCE: F06 error code on Whirlpool duet washer

I have the whirlpool Duet 9150 with the same issue. I removed, reseated and reconnected every connector at least 4 times with the same random result of F06 to the point where it no longer finished the load. I then removed the motor control board again and sprayed it down with electronic cleaner along with all connections by disconnecting them , spraying them down and then reconnect and connected a few times to ensure good contact. I then tried again and the F -06 code came back. I then ordered the board for $ 150 online . When the new board arrived 4 days later, my wife tried the washer one more time and it worked. I have performed over 2 dozen loads . The board was never replaced. It appeared that spraying the board and connectors worked.

Hi,

Appreciate the "Ask Me".

My compliments that you have determined that error code F06 indicates drive motor tach error. This relates to the controller board not sensing that the motor is spinning. This could be attributed to three (3) possibilities:

  • motor is not really turning/stuck, a replacement is required;
  • motor is turning but the sensor attached to it is defective and therefore not sending signals to the controller board. Pls check the terminals/connectors/wirings; and/or
  • the controller board input circuitry is defective. It does not register any input from the motor's RPM sensor. This could be a diode, resistor or logic IC. This would be component level repair requiring familiarity with electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It wold be easier to replace the entire controller board..
In some instances, it could just be the motor's capacitor that is defective. The capacitor provides the initial kick for the motor to start running. Failure on the capacitor will not kick start hence motor will not start hence RPM sensor says to controller board motor not running.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

F/06
Drive Motor Tachometer Error
The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.

  • Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check the Drive Motor
  • Check the MCU
  • Check the Wire Harness

What do these 2 codes mean on my maytag washer , F06 and E02?

The error code E02 and F06 on a Maytag washer could mean that the hot water solenoid went out. It could also mean that that the hot water control is not working properly.

F06, E02

I think these problems are related to water inlet, take off the hoses from the back of washer and you will find a screen in the outlets clean with old tooth brush until clear.
