My LG Front load washer is making a terrible, loud sound when it is spinning! SOMETIMES there is also a small trickle of water coming from under the machine. It is not putting up a code yet, so the washer is working, but sounds terrible! (p.s. we are NOT very impressed with our LG washer so far).

It sounds as if the inner water seal has failed and allowed water to get into the bearings.. Rust on the bearings means they are no longer smooth..Hence the noise! Replacing the bearings (and possibly the shaft) is a big job. This is not an unusual problem with front lad washers. Too much detergent will shorten the life of the seal/bearings...Get quotes...Nomess
If the 'loud noise' water sloshing you should first check that the pump filter isn't blocked. This sometimes stops the pump altogether. Coins, etc..If the noise is metallic it could mean bearings...Check the pump via the small door at floor level...Mind the water inside the machine. You may be able to drain first with a small hose which is inside the pump access door.....Nomess
Does the floor or the walls shake? If they do you have to beef up the flooring under your washer, with blocks between the floor joists, piers, or sistering of the joists. If there is no shaking of the floor or walls, and your washer is solid on the ground, leveled and not rocking, then it is your washer. Lg has problems with too much vibration in their washers. Check to make sure that your lint filter/coin catcher is clean. Open the door in the bottom front, put a towel down to catch the water, Unplug the washer, and unscrew the large plastic screw that is the filter for your washer. If this has debris in it clean it out completely. Look in the hoses also, if your water drain is restricted by lint or coins or other debris, the washer has clothes in it that are wetter and heavier than they should be, and this will cause sever vibration. A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running.
