SOURCE: AVIC-N1 opens to blanks screen and none of buttons work

It is probably the ribbon cable that you can see when the screen closes. This is a known problem and the part is sometimes hard to find. But is available.

SOURCE: AVIC-N1 wont read navigation disc

If your error message is reading "insert appropriate disk" or "inappropriate disk inserted" than I have the solution. Can you just let me know exactly what the message is?

Screen wont slide out on my Pioneer AVIC-N1

If the Avic was installed in a tight housing it will put pressure on the sliding mechanism for the screen. Its as if you put pressure down on the top of the housing, it wont slide out. These Avics and other players are sensitive to pressure, so tell an installer or someone with experience to relieve the pressure of the pioneer avic housing. If that doesnt do it then it is probably a mechanical problem or small electrical issue. Sometimes a faulty ground or weak power connection will cause this, but i am sure it has to do with pressure on the housing.

Good luck.

AVIC-N1 Mechanism Error ON PIONEER CAR UNIT IS DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN, IT WILL NOT EJECT A DISC. THIS OCCURRED AFTER THE BATTERY ON THE CAR RAN DOWN AND THEN THE CD DVD PLAYER WOULD NOT WORK PROPERLY.

If the battery was recharged by someone who accidenly reversed the leads then it can kill a radio, usually blows radio fuse first tho. Im affraid the unit needs repair from what youre saying.

You have to isolate yellow-black cabel. This cabel was in contact with earth and it was the reason, why you have Mute on the display.

Disc wont eject

Hi jamie,
It seems you have opened the top cover of your unit. Now take a dry cotton bud clean the roller which you can find right in front. Please do not use any liquid to clean the same.
Please cast your vote for me if this solve your problem.
