I am having the same problem. Mine has been working fine for several years and then all of a sudden this summer it just decided that it won't read the NAV disk any longer or any other disk. I have tried cleaning with compressed air as suggested by someone and still no luck.
Disc would not of killed the entire unit, it may of clogged up the laser eye where it reads the disc. Use canned air or shop air and throughly blow out the unit. If problem persists contact Panasonic for replacement or repair.
