I get the error message "please insert appropriate disk" on a black screen.  Sent it into Pioneer to get fixed and they did not solve the problem.  They are a waste of time.

If your error message is reading "insert appropriate disk" or "inappropriate disk inserted" than I have the solution. Can you just let me know exactly what the message is?

Why wont my Pyle PLD3MU car radio read disc?

Maybe it need a cleaning service. Firsth clean the laser lenss very carefully and after the mechanism complete. If the problem is not solved, possibly the optical pickup laser is damaged and need to be replaced.

You need to get an up to date navi disc. There is a procedure to down grade it, so it would read the yellow disc. But it will mess up the unit if you do it wrong. Beside half of the current info won't be on the yellow disc anyway, because it is so out dated. Goodluck.
