I have a sony handycam ccd-trv108 ntsc and the image on the lcd screen and the viewfinder is completely dark you could see the menu and everthing just not the image maybe the lens please help!!!!!!

You may need to switch between screen and viewfinder in the menu.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

On these camcorders the "RCA" video jack is a switching jack. This is so the cam will record from an ext video source instead of live video. Try exercising this switching lack by repeatedly plugging in and unplugging an rca video cord. This may be a solution to your problem.

CCD imager in your camera is defective thats why you do not see live view in LCD/ viewfinder on camera mode.

Sony offers various models repair with CCD Imager issue free of cost but I couldn't find your model in that list. Contact nearest Sony Service Center for guide lines.

No you cant fix it! its due to your CCD lens not working! it needs to be repaired at Sony Authorised service station

it is a common problem with them. sony has a recall on ccd imager for this model. call sony and they will fix it for free

ccd image sensor of your camera is already damage...go to the sony service center for replacing the ccd...the model of your camera is one of the recall products due to the factory error of the ccd image sensor production...
