Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV22 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Greetings All, I have a Sony Digital camcorder TRV22 that is suddenly acting strangely. When I put the unit in "Camera" mode, to record, the screen comes up blue, as normal, for just a couple of seconds and then goes dark, instead of showing me the image through the lens. I cannot see an image thru either the LCD screen or the viewfinder. It looks like the lens cap is on, but it's not. There is a functioning tape in the unit and the battery shows at least 60 min of time. If I hit "Record" the Rec light appears but no picture is recorded. Sound, however, IS recorded. I know the LCD screen works because I can use it to play back existing footage and this appears just fine through the LCD screen in VCR mode. This unit is about 4.5 years old and has the original battery. I thought first it could be a battery issue, but then why would the functions work in VCR mode? I have checked the white balance and LCD screen brightness settings and they all appear normal on the menu. Any help is appreciated. --Stumped in CA
