SOURCE: Loud Noise - Spin Cycle

It sounds like the bearings are going bad. Try spinning the drum with your hand while it is empty. It should spin nice and smooth. If the rotation feels a little rough and noisy, you might have a problem. You can double check by taking the drive belt off and try shaking the pulley. If there is "play" when shaking the pulley, the bearings are most likely toast. The inner stainless drum rides on two bearings which sit in the rear of the outer plastic drum. The whole plastic drum and bearings come as one piece and go for $150. It would cost about the price of a new maching to have someone come out and repair it for you. It sounds like kenmore has had a bearing problem which is pretty rediculous considering how much these things cost. Sears said, "those tend to go in a few years", which is criminal especially since the warrenty is usually conveniently exopired by the time this problem happens. If you are handy, have a spare day, and can remember how to put a washing machine back together, go for it. I did it and it was not a fun time. There is a lot of sharp metal edges in the machine so wear gloves. good luck

SOURCE: loud noise during spin cycle

this is my experience repairing the maytag washer Atlantis mav series 9750 aww, I had to replace the spin bearing since it was making a jet engine noise when it was spinning out the water. its not an easy job for my 1st time taking this machine apart, you literally take it all apart to get to this bearing, but now I can show how to do it with pictures making it easier for you to do it. even if you have to replace something other than the spin bearing, this how to tutorial will show you how to get to most of the parts in this machine

SOURCE: GE washer (wjsr4160gww) makes loud noise during spin cycle

Remove the front panel and you will see two metal guides attached to the front of the frame. One of them will probably be bent and the transmission assembly will have jumped over one or the other of the guides. You need to manually pull it back to center then straighten the bent guide. May have been caused by load being out of balance or machine not properly leveled. Good luck.

SOURCE: My washer runs fine until the spin cycle then it

The noise was indeed coming from the water pump. To clean the pump on this top-loader you have to unplug it, pop the top open, and remove the front face of the cabinet to expose the motor and pump. Slip off the two metal clips hugging the pump to the motor. Place a towel under the motor before detaching the hoses - there's a plastic drip pan between the pump and motor to guide the water away from the motor. Unclamp the two hoses from the pump by squeezing their spring-clamps with pliers and sliding them further down the hose. Pull the hoses off by lifting the pump off its axle and pulling it out while wiggling the hoses loose. I found a small sock jammed in the pump - it must have fallen to the outside of the basket but inside the drum during the last spin cycle, and went down the drain hose. Check the pump for damage and replace if necessary. For future troubleshooting, remember that a clogged pump causes squealing, diminished spin speed, and slow drainage.

Squealing noise during spin cycle

The spin cycle activates the fast mode on the motor, squealing normal occurs due to belt slippage. I would check your belts (look for cracks. Check the belt tension as well, most washers have an adjustment, normally on the motor that allows you to increase the tension of the belt.

Loud Noise - Spin Cycle

If the washer is making a squealing noise, the problem is more likely to be the basket drive. If it is more like a rattling sound, the centerpost bearings are probably worn out. Open machine's rear panel and spin the basket manually by turning the drive pulley, to find out from where exactly the noise come from. Defective part should be replaced. Good luck !!
