Make sure you've removed the protective tape from the cartridges that you inserted into the printer and that the cartridges were installed properly. Are you getting an error message or is the printer just not printing? If you get an error such as Error U041 or U043, the printer may just be low on ink or have a bad ink cartridge.
Re-seat the black cartridge and make sure it's properly inserted. If error continues, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.
It seems simple enough, but this is one of the most effective ways of fixing printer cartridge error. Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.
To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :
turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.
Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.
Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.
The reason for this kind of error in your printer is it might be due to your shorted print cartridge .Try to power off your unit and unplug it. After few minutes again turn it on.Try to un install and then reinstall your cartridges. Or else go for a new cartridge to fix this error for sure.
Nope! Canon played a little nasty on re-fillers and made these cartridge virtually un-fillable. Not that they can't be refilled, they can. They just won't be recognized in your machine. They have done a couple of strange things with the software and the cartridge.
1. Software writes to the cartridge to actually marry it to the machine. This encodes id numbers on the cartridge so that another machine cannot use the cartridge. 2. They have placed a "fuse" of some type in the cartridge which is actually "blown" when the "out of ink" message is displayed. This renders the cartridge un-usuable for another cycle.
I like the Canon product. Just not these particular ones. The ones that take cartridges 30/31/40/41/50/51. I have seen too many of them come into my shop for repairs after barely 2 years of use. They are un-repairable regardless of their issues.
I suggest you look at a different Canon product, one that takes the individual ink tank cartridge PG-5 and CL-8 series. These are much better machines and the printer itself will last longer. Just be aware that you will have an added cost in the print head which is a consumable that will need to be replaced every 3 years or so!
Hello! E5 means that the ink cartridges are not installed/ a non-supported ink cartridge is installed, or the ink cartridges are not installed properly. Hold the "resume" button (triangle in circle) on your printer for about 7-10 seconds for each cartridge, that should reset them. Hope that will help!
hi check your cartridge number are ok , clean the pin points of the cartridge and carridge pins of the printer if not works , try another cartridge if not works than may be carridge faulty , carridge data cable faulty, or logic card of the printer go to your service center or any repairing shop .
