hi,restart your printer with the printer replacement inside and wait for the error message to appear once error appear, press and hold the stop button untill the system re started.in this process the main ink detector will be reset and will recognized the new replacement cartridge
note:press and hold the stop button and never release the button until power restarted.
If you want to be able to save on your cartridge you can refill your empty cannon cartridge with ink here a video on how to refill the cartridge.
Hi, did you let the ink cartridge dry out completely before inserting a new cyan cartridge???
If this is the case you may have a bit of trouble getting the ink through the printhead...you have to persevere with deep cleaning and/or head cleaning... if that does not work you may need a new printhead...which is usually dearer than a new printer... I would also take the printhead out and clean the contacts with Isopropol alcohol...do not get finger prints on the contacts...that will stop it very quickly... just a thought...did you remove the sealing tape over the airholes and bottom feeder hole on the cartridge??? if the airholes are sealed the cartridge pulls a vacuum and the ink will not flow... hope this helps you... cheers haitchhcee
I notice that you saw error message 'check ink c'. This means the printer want you to observe cyan ink cartridge. so,what happen before this message appears?. Please make sure that cyan ink is not empty. if you are sure the ink not empty, then remove cyan ink and reinstall it,else try dry clean ink cartridge contact or you may use contact cleaner before reinstall it. if you have have another cyan ink cartridge that is in good condition, compare it. if this works, means cyan ink cartridge is faulty then you need to replace with the new one. but if the problem still persist,it may caused by carriage unit or logic board problem.
Are you using genuine ink cartridges? If not, then perhaps there is no microchip on your ink cartridge. You can take the old chip off your used cartridge and put it on this cartridge and see if this solves your problem.
Using replacement cartridges that come without a chip seems to be the problem I had with the Canon Pixma 510 printer they are cheaper but if they do not show the ink levels then its inconvienent so I have but Canon products with a chip and they work perfectly.
