Brush rolls wear out and usually need replaced every few years. The DC33 model has a clutch with belts which could also be slipping. I would replace both of them

DC25's brush bar is engineered to shut itself off for protection if something jams it. If your brush bar only works intermittently, I'd recommend removing any threads or hair from around the brush bar, and checking the cleaner head for obstructions. To do this, please follow the steps shown in the video attached.

Sorry to hear you're having a problem with your DC24. Resetting it is simple: after checking the brushbar is free of threads, hair and other obstructions, turn the cleaner to face you. You'll find the reset button in the red recess on the left-hand side of the cleaner head. Use the blunt end of a pencil or something similar to push it in until you hear an audible 'click'.

Mine gets seized up with hair wrapped around the bearing points. Remove the beater bar and unwrap the hair.

Hi- I had the same experience but it turns out there's a small trip switch if you've taken the brush out to clean it, it needs to be reactivated by pressing the small red button to the right of the brush... took me a year to figure this out! Been meaning to get in touch with Dyson. Not sure if this is the same problem that you have.

There is no reset button for the beater bar on the DC07, DC14, DC17 or DC25. If you have a DC18 or DC24 post your question again and I'll tell you where to find the reset button for the brushbar.

If you don't have a DC18 or DC24 call the Dyson Helpline, they will troubleshoot it and try to get your brushbar to spin.
