You select the country/language option, when first setting the printer up. If you skipped that step on installation, uninstall & reinstall the software.

I've never had a problem with another language showing up, but I would run the Canon Servcice Support Tool using the USB input and install the latest english only settings. That way everything is only english and you also have the latest and greatest Good Luck.

It is not problem with catridge.Go to Language setting change language option from japanese to U.S.English.It solves your problem.

when ur give the order of printing. it shows various options related to ur print on screen such as font style,paper type ...
in those u can find ur language setting.Just change it toENGLISH.
if it doesnt work then reinstall the printer setup & that time choose the ENGLISH language.

There are language settings. Go to the main menu and rotate through to the pliers/screwdriver icon. (settings) Click the right button to select the icon with two sliding tabs. (device settings) Scroll down 4 selections to language selection. Select English.
