Goto start all programmes , asscesories, system tools, and scan disk. run a full scan disk on the drive, let me know how you get on.
Hi,
Run the check disk utility on drive D.
To do this on XP click on the start menu and then click on run, type in the box cmd and hit enter, a command window will pop up.
In that window type chkdsk d: /f /r and hit enter (don't forget the spaces)
With Vista click on the start menu (orb) and type in the search bar cmd and hit enter. Again a command window will pop up so type in the window chkdsk d: /f /r and hit enter (don't forget the spaces)
In both cases you maybe asked to if you want to schedule a disk check next time you restart the computer, if it asks you this type y and hit enter type exit and restart the machine.
Chances are that it might ask this as D drive will be a storage so disk checking will commence straight away.
Be patient and wait for check disk to finish and then see if you can access your files.
Good luck and please post back if you need anymore help.
Regards.
Hi,
What j-cker915 has told you to do will only check drive c
I'm sorry but the drive is corrupt.
The only thing i suggest you do now is download Testdisk for windows and pray that it recovers the file system for you otherwise your looking at data recovery which can be very costly.
Click on the link that i have provided below and select windows (in blue), it will be in a zip/rar file so you will need to extract the program and run/install it.
Download Testdisk here >>>>>>>>

The very best of luck to you and please get back to me just in case i can help you out further.
I'm sorry to see that. It looks like your going to have to send the drive in to have to have the data recovered.
The only last resort i can think of and then i would be resigned to the fact that the drive is corrupt, and that is to try the MBR and file fixing tools is hirens boot cd, these tools (and there's plenty of them) may be able to recover the drive.
Scroll down the page and download the file. It should be an ISO file
which is a CD image you have to burn the image to a CD and then restart
your computer and boot from the CD to access the tools as the only
really work in DOS mode. (link below)
Download Hirens boot CD here >>>>>>>>>

Good luck and please let me know how the recovery goes.
