The paper feeder is not accepting paper. It makes the noise that it wants to grab the paper, but doesnt. Ive tried opening everything up and theres no visible problem. Please help me asap thanks
Mine's an intermittent problem. Sometimes it grabs just fine, other times nothing. Doesn't matter how many sheets in the ADF. It doesn't even try to grab, so I don't think it's a roller problem.

I am also having problem with Canon Pixma 830 not feeding. It makes noise. There are several snaps heard that printer is trying to do some thing. I tried to change papers. I have seen that there are no misfed papers obstructing the path. I shall appreciate any suggestion

Either the pickup roller needs to be replaced,(a maintenance kit) or the tray isn't pushing the paper high enough to grab. Tyr loading a few more pages in the tray and making sure the tray is seated properly. Then try replacing the roller.

Try cleaning your printer roller. You can do it through computer program or manually. See also if your gear is properly fitted or jammed this might be the reason why it won't feed the paper.

The feeder on this model has 1 weak mounting place for the gears that drive the feed roller. The plastic stud that holds the gear will break off of the frame and cause the noises you hear and no paper feed. The only fix is to replace the sheet feeder assembly, about $30.00 for the part.
Hi, the Ip3000 has 3 different feeding trays... make sure that the printer is trying to "grab" the paper in the tray that you have chosen to use in the printer properties box... when you give the print command can you see the rubber roller moving to grab the paper in the top feeder tray??? if the roller that feeds the printer is not moving you may have accidentally changed the settings to grab paper from the bottom tray...the one right under the door that opens to let printed pages out of the printer... the 3rd feeder tray is the DVD/CD printing tray... I suggest that you look at the printer Properties for remedial action... hope this helps you with your problem... cheers haitchhcee p.s. suggest you place paper in the bottom tray before making adjustments to see if it is trying to grab the paper from there...
This happened to me one time after I pulled out a jammed paper the wrong way. I pulled it from the paper tray. Heard the sounds, it tried to grab the paper, but couldn't. It happened a long time ago, so I'm fuzzy on which part I tinkered with...but I recall that because I pulled the paper (backwards) from the tray, it flipped a lever/feeder/roller/thing and that 's why it wasn't grabbing the paper. If you look in the paper tray as the rollers go down to grab the paper, you'll see what's not working......sorry, lame solution.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A MONTH AGO. I LOOKED WHERE THE PAPER LOADS AND THERE WAS A PAPER CLIP JAMMED IN THERE. I HAD A HECK OF A TIME GETTING TO IT, BUT I DID. AND IT WORKS FINE. MAYBE SOMETHING IS THERE.
So the feeder woek sometimes, If you have a warranty, bring it back, if not , the printer might have something stuck in his mechanism or a bit of spread ink, open it and check for any weird thing, you can do some cleaning but the mechanism need some greassy spot so do not be too clean
then try a recommanded paper for the printer like 80g for example and no more than 30 new pages to begin.
You can test the printer when open, you just need to push a few switch or button to make it run also you will be able to see where the noise come from.
Have you still getting the problem, have you done cleaning of Cartridge, its nozzle and Contact strip.. then cleaning of Printer roller or carriage rack.. Do a Service of it or get it done by Technician.
Also check the feeder tray.. to grab paper one by one by printer.. Manually
gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.
