if your device has multiple trays, please put paper in both trays before attempting to print again. I would also use any diagnosis apps that Canon offers on it's website for it's product after power cycling your device and restarting any computer that it might be attached to.
The mx2300n only supports up to 209gsm heavy card. You must make sure that your heavy card is not over this rating. Set the bypass tray as 'Heavy' by clicking on the trays on the main copy mode screen, select type & size for bypass. Select heavy, and Auto AB as this will allow the tray guides to detect the size of your paper. Load the tray with up to 20 sheets of Heavy paper. Open your document, select Print, then properties. Under the 'paper' tab, select paper source as bypass tray, and paper type as heavy (if you miss one of these steps, the ,machine will ask to load paper due to size or type mismatch). That's pretty much it.
The printer tells you to insert a letter format paper in the mp (multi purpose) feeder (the manual tray). If you press the GO key the print probably proceeds with print job (if has the paper loaded in mp feeder)
Most of the time this problem comes when the paper is not loaded correctly. Follow the below instructions to load papers to the cassette and I am sure this will resolve your problem. I will keep monitoring your responce and if required, i'll look for a work arround.
Follow this procedure to load paper / envelope in the cassette:
Pull out the cassette from the machine.
Remove the cover from the cassette.
Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.
Align the edges of the paper.
If the cassette is not yet extended, use your thumb to press the tab (indicated by the pink circular outline) and release the latch.
After the latch is released, remove your thumb from the tab. Then extend the cassette until a click is heard.
Load paper on the upper-right corner of the cassette with the print side facing down.
Note: * Since the Credit Card sized paper, Canon Photo Stickers, and Legal sized paper cannot be fed from the cassette, load them in the auto sheet feeder (ASF). * When loading A5 or larger sized paper (nonstandard-size paper: 203mm / 8inches or more in length), extend the cassette by pinching the tab.
Grasp the paper guide (A) and align it to the long edge of the envelope stack (2). Align the front edge of the paper stack in the same way (3).
Close the lid and push the cassette all the way into the printer.
Press the <Open> button and pull out the extension completely.
Press the <Feed Switch> button to turn on the Cassette light.
*MP500 shown.
Note: If the Auto Sheet Feeder lamp lights, press the Feed Switch button to light the Cassette lamp. If the Cassette lamp does not light even after pressing the Feed Switch button, Paper Source in the printer driver may be set to the setting other than the Feed Switch button.

Set paper with the flap closed.
Press down firmly on the edges of the envelopes to make the folds crisp. Also, press firmly on the area that corresponds to the edges of the back flap.
Remove any curling by holding the edges diagonally and bending them gently.
If the edges of the envelope are inflated or are curling, place the envelope on a flat surface. With a pen, press down while moving it from the center toward the edges of the envelope.
Ensure that no curl or puff exceeds 1/8 in. (3 mm).
Load envelopes in the cassette with the print side facing down and the flap towards the left.
Close the lid and push the cassette all the way into the printer.
Press the <Open> button and pull out the extension completely.
Press the <Feed Switch> button to turn on the Cassette light.
Note: If the Auto Sheet Feeder lamp lights, press the Feed Switch button to light the Cassette lamp. If the Cassette lamp does not light even after pressing the Feed Switch button, Paper Source in the printer driver may be set to the setting other than the Feed Switch button.
Your paper feed source is wrong .Go to the printers control panel and change the feed source.
If all you do is 8.5X11 you can go into the maintenance tab and choose it to automatically change paper trays by selectin auto continuous feed.Make sure paper is in both trays of the same type and size. You will hear the printer try and grab the paper three times then it will automatically switch to the next tray.
Hi,
I m not sure what the specification of the paper type you are using however if you are using card stock than you should use manual feed Tray and in the printer driver properties you should select paper type as Card-Stock to make sure there is no print quality issue.
1-try both sides of the card stock
2-try the manual by-pass and see it that works
if it works then there could be a problem witht the main board
when you change the setting it changes :the temperature, the pressure on the rollers, and a few other thins, because of the wieght of the paper.
