OKI Office Equipment & Supplies - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I've faced this problem on my C301dn, I've tried to reset it but no way (I've also broken several plastic part doing it!!!), finally I've solved as below:
- I've bought another fuser (oki original), installed and used for a couple of days, then I've re-installed the old fuser...and it works perfectly!!! Not the most economic way but at least you have a spare fuser for the future

I would think you have broken ribbons cables to the cyan and magenta LED print heads. As all the heads are the same I suggest you swop the black and cyan print heads around and see if cyan prints and black does not. That will prove is the print heads are ok. If they are then the ribbon cables need replacing or they are dirty at the heads. It could be just a case of unplugging them, clean them, then plug them back in again.

It would be unusual for all the colours to go out of alignment. Its probably just black but to re calibrate them all just turn of the power. Pull out all the ribbon cables to the four print heads. Make sure their ends touch no metal parts. Close the cover carefully and turn the power back on. You will hear no sounds then after intitializing you will get a fatal error 13-. Turn the power off and reconnect the ribbon cables. Turn the power back on and recalibration will take place (you wont see it happen) and all will be well.

Basically the machine does not recognise the image drum. You maybe using the Xerox equivalent which of course wont work. Replace the drum with an OKI one and it should work even though its really a Xerox printer.

All you need to do is unlock the scanner. Just open the flatbed cover and on the left edge is the slider for the lock. Slide it towards you and that's it unlocked.

Never use spirit to clean rollers. Just fairy liquid and water. All the roller gets is grease from the paper on it. Fairy liquid is the best degreaser. Alcohol will soften the rubber and it will work short term and then the roller is finished and will need replacing.

Take out both the drum tray and the transfer belt. Reseat the transfer belt and make sure both clips at the sides are locked down. Reseat the drum tray and checked it is firmly located. Re-try your prints. If it still fails, take the paper tray out and check for a paper fragment in the paper feed path.

In the side of the blue handle on the toner there should be a window that has a white flag inside it. the surface of the flag may be dirty and require cleaning. alternatively, there is a sensor opposite this in the side of the printer that "looks" for the white flag moving during the startup sequence that may also require cleaning. K in the code would indicate K or black toner is the one to be checking.

Is this a networked printer? You may need to reload the print driver into your computers. Most printers are generic enough that computers will recognize them and automatically install the drivers. Sometimes you need to go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers you need.

Sometimes the fuse in the drum blows but the printer does not register it so it still thinks a new drum is required. You can find new fuses on ebay. Its cheaper than buying another new drum. Also put a new drum in with the power turned off. Once the lid is closed then turn the power back on and then the fuse will blow at the correct time.

Open the rear cover and in the centre of the curved black guide you will see a small black lever with a silver spring on it. this is a arm to the jam sensor. check it moves freely and returns to its upright position. If ok the blow air under it into the actual sensor. Check the pickup roller is not smooth. If it is its rubber tyre can be rotated so the good part touches the paper.

The thin lines are caused by a worn out drum. Remove each drum in turn and look at the surface. It maybe hard to see the scratches and if so then send solid blocks of the primary colours one at a time and that will prove which drum is at fault.

you may have to make another tray the default tray
then you select the paper size to print on and put the size paper in the default tray

I have the Oki 5650 which had been great for about 18 months. Then found that the C cartridge was showing error as 'not installed'. After much fiddling about with it and checking on the internet I can now rectify this by either pushing down on the top of the printer while it boots up, or removing the small chip on the left top of the toner (make sure you have 'earthed' yourself to prevent any static damaging the chip when you handle it!) and taping securly onto the top of the cartridge above the chips proper slot. This now has been working OK for 6 months. Strange how this only affects the C cartridge (which has also been replaced and had the same problem). I suspect that the printers RFID chip reader for the C cartridge is having problems reading the chip and moving the chip closer to the reader by either taping to the cartridge top of puching on the top cover while printer boots up resolves the problem (for now anyway!) This can also trigger the 'service call 231 fatal error 03' message which also disappears if you follow the above procedure.
