It worked yesterday. Today I can set the load how i want it, but the water never fills? What do I do?
SOURCE: Water fill control
it overflows from the tub then:
This can either be a fault in the
fill sense tube( small tube connected to the bottom on the outer tub
from the sensor at or near the top of the washer housing ) becoming
blocked or broken or a fault with the sensor itself. There is a mechanical adjustment for the level but it is a little fiddly to get the adjustment just right.
If it overfills from the drain hose:
then either the drain hose is too low and the water
siphons out before it reaches the maximum or there is a tight seal at
the drain hose to house drain port which will cause all the water to
siphon out, this can also be caused by a drain hose being pushed too far down the house drain port.
SOURCE: Ge washer wont stop filling with water
The usual culprit for a washer that will not stop filling is the pressure switch. The switch is located inside the operator console behind the load size, or water level knob (this knob has different names based on the washer model). Before assuming the pressure is defective, however, inspect the pressure switch and ensure the small plastic air hose is still attached to it. It is common for this small air hose to come loose or develop small cracks or breaks. Without the hose installed, the switch cannot detect the appropriate pressure in the wash tub and will not shut off. The result: as washer that continually fills and will overflow. What appears to be a significant problem may only be a loose hose and few minutes of your time. Please inspect the switch, check the entire length of the hose for cracks and make sure the electrical connection(s) are intact and not corroded, then get back to me. I hope this helps you.
PS Make sure you UNPLUG the washer before servicing!
SOURCE: GE washer won't fill with cold water
Cold water pipe had become frozen. FYI this model of washer has a nice feature whereas you can test each component i.e. valves, by setting the timer and reading the LED's on the front panel. Instructions are in the schematic.
SOURCE: Load size, spin cycle, and other cycles do not work properly
error code f 06 keeps coming up and we cannnot afford to have it serviced at this time we were told it had something to do with the control panel
SOURCE: Washer will not spin
I fixed it yesterday. After checking the continuity of my lid switch and pressure switch and finding them ok I removed the tubing from the pressure switch and applied air (blew into it). There was a clog and blowing on it removed it for now. Apparently the pressure switch was telling the machine that the tub was full of water and wouldn't let it start the spin cycle. I ran three loads last night and it worked perfect. I may have to remove the connection on the side of the tub and clean it properly if it clogs again.
Hello & Welcome to FixYa
When the washer fills but does not agitate or spin
then you can check if the lid switch is fine. You can jump start the lid switch
by connecting both the wires with each other or use the third wire to act as
jumper between the two. After this if the problem is solved then replacing lid
switch is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other
questions.
